Found me a decently rolled Nat's Shadow last night while farming Act I. Sold it for 15 mil, kind of excited as this was my first item worth more than 1 mil that I'm not wearing.

Don't know about pre-nerf act III but with the nerfs Melee Wizard is breezing through the keep portion of Act III even with the IAS reductions. I managed to nab a ~10 mil (819 dps, 200 Int, 843 LPH 10 AP/crit) wand last night for 190k... All in all it was a good night and between the gear/gold/nerfs I'm back to being excited about end game and farming again. Looks like the alts are going to get neglected for awhile again.

One question about the AH, the gold cap is 250M and Money is $250?

I don't think you can expect to make much gold if you're not even adequately geared to clear act 1 without death. That's the whole reason blizzard upped the repair costs, to prevent death zerging by under geared players.

The gold cap on the gold AH is something like 2 trillion.

A Stormshield dropped in a group I was in last night. He gave it to me when I asked, I gave it back to him to sell. We're too nice.

The RMAH prices for that shield amuse me. Ranging from $250 to $28. Where the $28 one is basically the same as the $250 one except it has like a DH crit compared to 45 int.

I expect the $250 has 32% block and the $28 has 17% block. A very good stormshield will also have +str/+dex, +vit, +Allres.

Allres and Str are two of the base stats. The 2 random properties seem to not actually be 2 all the time either.

AFAIK you could get a +vitality affix and +str/vitality affix so it would only appear to have +vitality as a stat but still have two affixes.

Edit: If you have money "deposited" into a Blizzard account can you use it for it server/faction/name changes? Or is it just to buy other stuff off of the AH?

My understanding is you can buy anything in the Blizz store with that money.

Also if you are interested in something in the RMAH, like that elusive weapon that doesn't drop and it's like a trillion in the GAH..

For example your a DH and a 1 H 1200 dps weapon drops you go and sell it for say $100 and that bow you wanted is about the same...

Too bad blizz will make $16 for each transaction.. that's why they only allow 99 people on general chat? LOL

The only make $1 if you use battle.net balance for the deposit source.

Blizz takes $1 from every non-commodity transaction on RMAH. Commodities will be 15% when they're available.

If you send your sales to PayPal, PayPal takes 15% of the transfer.

Fixed that for you.
In his latest vid he showed how it is post nerf, and the bosses doesnt die close to as fast, even tho they still die in a fraction of the time it takes for most people.

That was a bug with precasting slowed projectiles.

I should probably post a video of AFK-tanking arcane rays, meh.

I'm at 51K dps, mauling most mobs, elites I take them down quickly unless they are shielded or higher HP affix..

Sacrificed a little HP in exchange of more DPS, DHs are also like Wizards as glass canons anyway.. (but they don't have diamond skin just elusive moves).

If your going "Glass Cannon" on a wizard than diamond skin does pretty much nothing outside of Act I. It's only when you have high armor and resists that Diamond skin is worthwhile. Many kite/dps/glass cannon whatever you want to call it builds don't use diamond skin.

The bread and butter of a "Glass Cannon" wizard are force armor coupled with mirror image and/or teleport with illusionist so basically "elusive moves" as well. Although sometimes Diamond skin is used just to make sure you survive that first hit to proc illusionist.

So yesterday and today I'm getting some odd lag effects in game. It's the first I've played since the patch, so I don't know if that's it. I'll be playing fine, then every now and then after I move the game will suddenly jump me back to where I was before I moved. I'm on a very fast connection (between 20-35Mbps depending on the speed test), green latency bar and have had no problems with other things online.

I was getting a bit of "rubberbanding" like you are describing pre patch. In the patch they had said they addressed several performance issues and specifically some "rubberbanding" issues. The problem is that it seems to have gotten worse for me. It hasn't caused me any deaths or anything yet but it is certainly annoying/frustrating and is one of the main reasons I haven't continued playing my HC DH. I'm also on a very fast connection and machine so I'm fairly confident it remains an issue on Blizzard's end.

Invis and I both had the exact same problems you guys are talking about and we're on vastly different machines. I was more than a little bit annoyed because I wasn't having any graphical problems prior to the patch. I reset my settings back to what I had them on (since the patched changed them) and it still wasn't enough to keep out the rubberbanding and graphic lag I was getting. Really, REALLY annoying - particularly since they claim to have "fixed" something that was never an issue for me anyway!

Doesn't matter how fast your machine or connection is, rubberbanding is always server side.

- A demolitions specialist at a flat run outranks everybody.

Uhh... wut? An unstable user connection can cause de-synchronization between a client and server which can lead to rubberbanding. Unless of course you know something I don't which is certainly within the realm of possibilty.

From what I understand:

Rubberbanding is caused by the server not remaining synced with the client. Then the discrepancy is "fixed" by the server sending a message to the client that basically says "hey! You're totally not supposed to be there. Get back to where you're supposed to be!"

Thus, server's fault.

At a high level it can be caused on either end and so without seeing the code it's impossible to say for sure, but just judging by the behavior, it's more likely what Fivelives says.

Unless you're teleport/speed hacking or something, the client's position is almost always going to be correct, but the server gets behind and tells the client to put you back somewhere. Skipping issues can be more at the client, but literally being teleported back to where you were a few seconds ago is usually going to be a server issue.

IAS nerf, DH fix, droprate lowered by over 50%.. sure, dumbing it down!
DHs were 1hitted before, mages were 3hitted before, nothing changed for them.

the other day I sat down and finished act 4 normal. Fun to see the rest of the story, but then it dawned on me: I was just casually annihilating everything in my path (Monk) and it wasn't very fun... It's like either I got lucky, something got nerfed seriously or straight up act 4 was too easy, even for a guy like me who had trouble earlier on. I may try with my barb now that I have some gear to pass down, but a monk was way more fun. However, from the beginning of act 4, I felt way OP and it was only the story causing me to stick it out. None of the bosses, even Diablo came close to killing me. Diablo I was able to wander in and smack around without much trouble since his mechanics were really no different than any of the other bosses (smack like mad, stay out of bad, kill an add or two).

strangely enough, this doesn't actually make me want to try harder difficulties for more 'challenge', since it seems like I'll just die constantly until I get better gear and then proceed to steamroll, repeating with each act.
