A couple of things I take issue with, but overall, nothing gamebreaking for me. This isn't 100% verified btw, but it looks legitimate.

Is that screen showing 400 gems and 4.80 euro a purchase line item, or is it just the person's account balances?

If that's the exchange rate, the items seem expensive. 3.60 euro for a 12-slot bag?

I do believe that is indeed the exchange rate, though I could be wrong. As for the bag price, yeah, pricey, good thing I am generally rather good at keeping my bags clear, enough so crafting my own is much more appealing then buying from the store.

I pre purchased and I'm looking forward to the beta weekend. The timing works out nicely. People were speculating that it would be this weekend at first. I have to work extra so I'd get almost zero playtime. With it being the next weekend I'm golden to sink lots of time into the game.

Basically, I hope we get a release date and soon. ><

Same here. I quit WoW a while ago, & I have a founder's account in LoTRO (which means I don't pay IRL money for monthly in-store currency), but I never found motivation to pay for the expacks. The mechanics felt so much like other MMORPGs. I'm truly looking forward to dodging, switching weapons on-the-fly, self-heals for no downtime, dynamic events, the list goes on.

I'm still planning on pre-purchasing the Digital Deluxe, but I know the timing of the betas is iffy for me. Heck, I hope I'm even in the country on release day. So I shall be playing vicariously through you beta testers :D

I haven't decided if I'm going to play the same thing I plan on playing during release (Norn Warrior). I may want it to be a fresh experience so I might play something different. Luckily I like just about every class so there will be plenty to do. The only ones I don't have much interest in are the necromancer and mesmer. I also don't particularly care for the Charr race. Well, I like the Charr as a race within the game setting but I really can't stand their animations. I noticed that a mass majority of beta footage is all from Charr players. I wonder if they have the same idea as me (play something that they probably wont during release) or if everyone just truly loves the Charr.

Planning on playing a Norn Guardian come launch, but think I am going to switch things up a bit for the beta. Kinda sucks for me, as the three races available are the first three races I was planning on playing at launch, but eh, what can you do? I'll probably just end up winging it when beta does end up coming around lol.

I've been watching a channel on youtube that has been pretty helpful and entertaining. If you want to brush up on some lore, see some GW1 play through and some Q&A about various GW2 lore/mechanics/etc take a look at http://www.youtube.com/user/WoodenPotatoes Probably my favorite GW-centric channel.

I've pre-purchased the digital deluxe. I usually like collector editions, but the only thing in the GW2 CE that caught my interest was the art folder and "making of" book. I'm sadly not one for figurines.. I think they're awesome, but have no interest in actually owning any. :P

I'll be in the beta, mainly playing an Elementalist. I've always played casters in every game that let me - except in WoW! No idea why.

Beta invites going out for pre purchase folks. They are going out in waves. Check your emails. The link to get started in your email may not work since the site is getting a prison pounding.

Also a neat community event, http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/no- ... 36890.html

People can hop on their teamspeak, ask questions, group up for content, etc.

Yay!

Guild Wars 2 is sold-out!

Looks like those beta servers are gonna be filled to the brim.

I can definitely see the reasoning behind it but the implementation is kind of poor. Seems to me they'd be better off just removing the tidbit about "every pre purchase gets a beta invite" or putting some kind of date on them. Anyone who buys after X date will only be able to participate in the next beta event or something. Seems silly to cut off their own sales when people obviously still want to buy the game (even if they are just buying it for beta access).

I have a rather low end laptop, and I haven't really been having any issues...except ones that reasonably come with having a low end laptop. Otherwise, been having a blast in beta so far. Norn Guardian on Sea of Sorrows server.

I had a tiny bit of occasional lag when I first started and a few random disconnects but otherwise fairly smooth. I turned off shadows and water reflections for some performance improvement. Everything else was gorgeous. I also made a norn guardian.

You know that feeling you get when you first play a brand new MMO and visit some place awesome and iconic for the first time? Such as a brand new player in vanilla WoW walking through the gates of Stormwind for the very first time? I got that 3 different times tonight going through Divinity's Reach, Lion's Arch and Hoelbrak. I'd say I spent about half of my total playtime today just exploring those 3 cities.

The dynamic events I ran across were all a lot of fun and pretty well scripted. I doubt I ever go back to traditional MMO questing again. Especially when dealing with escorts. I remember in WoW showing up to an escort NPC quest and someone else was doing it so you had to sit and wait for them to finish. GW2, you get to the "quest giver" and he says the escort is out and about, go find it! So you do. You can help out mid escort. And get credit. Sadly though, all the lower level "boss" fights at the end of some of the chains turn into a giant zerg. No one seems to take damage, the bosses go down smoothly but take a while. However, its low level pve content so I can't really expect a great challenge just yet.

Combat is fun. A bit difficult to get used to though. I'm probably better off than most since I've been playing a lot of action combat MMO's lately but even then it is still a challenge. There were several times where I and the few people I was with sucked and died. One part I couldn't quite figure out why I had died so quickly. It was because I was level 6 trying to fight a level 11 and I did not dodge very well. Splat.

I haven't had a chance to try the pvp yet. My server was getting crushed when I checked though. As a matter of fact, one of the servers was dominating the other two pretty handily. It was like 30k points to 10k to 9k(my server). I'm not sure if that is just due to participation or population or suck.

Era on Aurora Glade, although I haven't played much. My laptop is pretty good (Alienware), and my internet connection is badass - so I have no idea why the lag was so horrible. I set the graphics to minimum and turned off every other web application, but still it was rubberbanding like nothing I've ever seen.

Maybe it'll be better today.

Pic taken with the lowest settings, still pretty good imo!

One thing to note is that currently game performance is more based around the power of your processor rather than your video card. They haven't got things quite optimized just yet so changing various video settings may not change performance a whole lot. There are several threads on GW2Guru talking about it. That could be your reason for poor performance. I have a middle of the road processor that is probably 4 years old at this point and I run things mostly ok. Lag can be highly dependent on the server you are on and the area. Friends I was playing with were also reporting some pretty bad lag but in the less populated "overflow" areas or inside a personal story instance, they said it ran way better.

Game runs just fine today, beefed the graphics back up as well. I have a quad core processor, maybe the game isn't optimized for that - I never thought about it. Anyway, it runs fine now, no lag except random waves of global lag (that hits everyone at once).

I'm still not sure what I think about the game - it's certainly not bad, I'm just not sure if it's great or just good.
