Re: [10H] Warmaster Blackhorn
A solosoaked onslaught is 7% of the boats health, think if you are two it's 3.5%. The first one you can have firemage+SP on, since both will have their cd's rdy if you let mage go third and priest last. If you soak with the entire raid, you will miss a few small ones, and they deal like 5% dmg or so.. so there's not really any point in having the raid take anything else then the second one, since there's no small ones during/after it.

Do you mean there are no small ones during and IMMEDIATELY after the second onslaught? Or do you mean the whole duration if drakes are killed in time?

Yes, atleast with our dps (and most killvideos i checked) so that one is very easily soaked by the raid.

Re: [10H] Warmaster Blackhorn
Got it last night (woooooo! vid)
we soak the first three with entire raid (using large cooldowns so noone goes low, and we can soak small ones straight after - the spriest often disperses, grabs a small one, and rocket jumps to the big one etc, lots of small optimisation you can do).
After that, we go to rotation of tanks + spriest + mage.

Re: [10H] Warmaster Blackhorn
We finally managed to get this fellow to 30% tonight, but a tank died without a res left. It seemed though that we were behind the enrage by ~20 secs. Is there anything to do in P2 to optimize DPS and hit the enrage easier? We're 2-healing.

Re: [10H] Warmaster Blackhorn
You can be pretty safe to cleave both, if you can sustain the healing during the start of p2 - we use lust then to help with this - I have never seen the siphon life mechanic kick in, we cleave to about 80% before gariona runs off, earlier in the thread there is mention of hitting 60% without it kicking in.
We have people double dotting, but not spreading direct damage cleaves.

Is it safe to say that this HAS to be 2 healed at this point? What are the reasons? (enrage i assume)

I have come across a few logs and heard of people 3-healing this but cutting really close to enrage. If you have superior DPS, you can probably afford to 3-heal, but as long as people dodge the charges in P1, the real healing only happens in the last minute of the encounter.

do you mind linking any of those logs? can't find a single one, and i checked the top 40 worst healers, and people 3healing should have lowest hps out of all ppl so.

Re: [10H] Warmaster Blackhorn
You would be cutting it unbelievably close - the enrage isn't quite so much an issue - although it would probably become one.
I just couldn't see you burning double drakes, which makes the fight so much more soak-dependant - and that is the thing everyone tries to minimise. You would have a much easier p2 while gariona remains, but with timed cd's, that should be just a practice thing with some rng on fire positioning.

Howe many attempts did it take you to get a kill after you could consisently get to P2? We just started to get to P2 last night (our first night of real attempts -approx 10-15) but we have the whole night tonight to work on it. Were also saving hero for p2 burn on Gariona.

Our Strat from our first kill:
Comp
Tanks:
Druid
Warrior
DPS:
Combat Rogue
Ret Pally
Fire Mage
Fire Mage
Shadow Priest
Boomkin
(we sat our two hunters in favor of an OS Boomkin from our Resto Druid)
P1
Onslaughts and Barrages
We had a fire mage and a shadow priest soaking barrages. They didn't get all of them, probably around half (due to debuff). A fire mage makes soaking barrages much easier. Make sure that they have a cauterize ICD timer so they know exactly when they can take them.
We altered between single soaking and group soaking. We found the first two barrages were fairly easily group soaked with no raid CDs needed. However, the last two (three) were much more intense. This was our soaking rotation.
1- Group (no CDs)
2- Group (no CDs)
3- Group (AM and Barrier)
4- Solo (Shadow Priest)
5- Group (Frenzied Regen and Hymm) - if needed
Drakes
We had the group split in 2. Melee and 2 ranged on one, with the last two ranged on the other. However, all ranged put dots up on both drakes. The reason why we had melee and 2 ranged on one is that it was also their responsibility for the sapper and two adds the tanks had.
As the last set of adds came down, we popped hero. This helped smooth the transition over in finishing off the last two drakes and only having the final sapper up when Blackhorn started to come down.
Sapper
It was the responsibility of the Holy Paladin and Ret Paladin to alternate stuns on the Sapper. The combat rogue also helped in a pinch (they were on their way over to kill the sapper anyways). Essentially, I'd recommend having 2-3 classes with a stun to ensure the sapper does get stunned in case someone is in a bad spot (you'd be surprised how much this happens due to fire).
Fire
Speaking of fire, we also realized that the graphic for fire was bugged (aka fire was showing where it actually wasn't). The good thing is that if you run through it, especially with a sprint (DivProt for Holy), it would eliminate bad graphics half the time. Thus, my one piece of advice is, if you need to get somewhere, don't be afraid to run through the fire as it may not tick you.
P2
Goriona
It is the most important thing to get Goriona down ASAP so she quits casting the void zones on the ground. Once she comes down, tank her the opposite way as Blackhorn and tank swap when you need to (unfortunately, forgot exactly how this works).
We kept Goriona and Blackhorn facing the door and bubble (and alternated on tank swaps). The raid spread perpendicular to them (towards the side of the boat). I would recommend stacking and then moving for shockwave as it will help a ton on healer mana. Our healers were OOM when Blackhorn was at 10%.
We just ignoring Consuming Shroud. As long as you seemed to spam heals it was fine.
Blackhorn
The only tricky part of the last 2 minutes of the fight is managing healing for Blackhorn's AoE damage and moving for Shockwaves. That is about it. As long as your DPS is solid and you can get some off heals and a mana hymm, you should be able to get him down within the first couple tries of getting to this point.

And for the boring version of that fight - with vent.

You can tell we really weren't planning on killing it this attempt.

Towards the end of P1 I noticed that the ship stayed at 5% even after 2 barrages directly hitting the ship (starting from 2:45), do barrages just not have the ability to take out the ship?

We've had them take out the ship before in some practice pulls. I think once you hit a certain point though it may transition to not taking damage? (question mark on purpose)
