Grrr... as someone with a geology/mineralology background, it annoys me with what they do with the mineral names. If they want to make something up, just make it up. Same issue with Pyritium or whatever it's called. Pyrite is an iron ore basically. Obsidian is volcanic glass.
Yeah, they must be getting short on ideas if they go back to elementium...
I mean why not go for Rubidium? or Platinum?
Ellifain @ Khaz'Goroth does not approve of torture, save where there's experience/rep/loot involved.

I figured they went back to Elementium because 1) it had hardly even been used before (players that don't know about Thunderfury probably didn't even know it was in the game) and 2) it has strong ties to Deathwing.

At least Elementium is make believe. When they start mixing real-world and fantasy, it's just odd. Cobalt should be a copper ore. Pyritium or whatever should be an iron ore. It wouldn't be that hard to have it make sense.
Kinda like when they use a fish icon that looks like a salmon for some other fish, and then the glacial salmon icon looks nothing like a salmon. I don't get it. (Esp since GC has a ocean-based biology degree).

I think we need another independent reference to unobtanium.

As someone who writes software for a living and has to endure every TV show and movie that talks about "hacking their mainframes," get in line.
They made a quest just for you in uldum where you can do some real hacking.

It's a world where fire exists in a crystallized form.
For that matter, it's a world where fire exists in sentient and animate forms.
If you are not the flame, you're the fuel.

Look at the bright side, your DK WILL level while fueling your crafters

It's also a world which has frozen crystallized water in it that apparently isn't ice? That one always amused me.

Exactly!I'm likely going on a farming spree with my DK before I even attempt to level my other toons.
If you are doing so to sell the ore, that's good. If you are saving it for a kit for you other toons, you might want to wait. Competition will be tight.

I'm torn on that. On the one hand, I want to get geared up as quickly as possible to help my guild out, so I want to farm ore for crafted gear. On the other hand, I want to sell all the ore I get because prices are going to be INSANE.

Swift flight form + shadowmeld will be lovely for herbing. May actually try to focus on that when Cataclysm is released so I can have a stockpile of cash. I'm usually in the mid-range of gold and would liek to know what it is like to be "rich."

Actually, that's a damn fine point. And that would probably be better than On a Pale Horse with epic flight from my DK. I'm doing my damndest to get my druid to 80 before 12/7, which barring the frequent RL interruptions shouldn't be too hard to do.
She is an herb/miner so I may go that route

Tauren druid herbing is sick.
Swift Flight Form + Cultivation
It casts so fast with the new (as of 4.0.1) racial that half the time mobs don't even get a chance to aggro, and the rest of the time they can't get anywhere near you before you've herbed and flown away.
