Rested @ lvl 79.9?

Hello guys,

I'm lvling a priest at the moment and I'm wondering if I can stay 79 till cata hits and be rested to 81?
Ill just stop questing @ 79.9999 and wait in an inn till cata hits (already got epic BoE gear in my bag for lvl 80)
Does this work? If so being realm first should be doable.

Even if this works, and I can't see why it wouldn't, level 80s in full or close to best-in-slot gear will still level faster.

You don't accumulate rest past the level cap.

Just hit 80, and then the night before Cataclysm do 25 dailies but don't hand them in until the level cap is reached.

Not a bad idea. I think I remember people talking about doing this when Wrath launched. I might have to try this.

My ex did it for Wrath. Got him about 25% of a level if I remember correctly.

Doubtful they'd get that BiS gear in the next 4 weeks, unless they can get carried..

On a related question for the beta folk, is there any new gear from justice points worth grinding and saving the points for?..
