31 Point Talent Calc Updated 7/20/2010

Postby Dehn » Tue Jul 20, 2010 10:26 pm

I can't remember all details from the latest patch, but seems we lost a few talents..

But..

divine guardian looks useful.
a talent to boost holy wrath (is it being changed ?)
talent to refresh cs cooldown

and no more talents to increase stats...

It looks like a particularly stale build for prot paladins. Holy play style was just 100% redefined with the new cone heal and a 60% movement speed boost. Retribution play style just got 99% redefined with a short cooldown interrupt, a big new strike and whatever that 31 point enrage thing is. Protection just looks like it had more removed than added.

No spiritual attunement. Fairly disappointing that paladins end up being only tank without a short cooldown interrupt. Cooldowns are fairly far behind DK cooldowns and worse than warrior cooldowns, but it's way early to make those kinds of assessments.

Why can't they put that interrupt in the 2nd ret tier, why?

Also, holy shield with a (potential) 40 sec uptime on a 1 min cd looks too good to be true.

Edit: warriors now also have consecration, on top of normal TC damage and the rend>tc combo.

Wow. A form of D.Guardian I may consider taking?
Ardent.D still questionable at best.
Also noticed our Avenger Silence is now completely gone. Mayhaps to be made into a glyph?

I imagine moar changes yet, but nice to have something to play with in the meantime.

To be honest I don't know how much you can change tanking. Prot Warrior really didn't get changed much except that they get a consecrate, from what I eyeballed. The reverse Sword & Board is ok.

Two things made me dance with this patch.
1) Raidwall makes a return without the stupid redirect garbage.
2) RECKONING IS BACK!

Looks like crap to me, to be honest. That is supposed to be a FUN application of Holy Power? I liked having a rotation that let me decide whether to use an offensive ability or a defensive ability every few seconds. Now, you basically set and forget Righteous Fury, Divine Plea, your seal and your aura, you cast Holy Shield every minute, you cast Consecration every 45 sec, and in between you're left doing basically nothing but using single target damage spells and looking for Judgment and Crusader Strike procs like a stupid DPS class.

I would like to see choices in what to use holy power on.

I just dont see that yet as prot pala.

Holy pala OTOH looks interesting with alot of tools.

Downside, is at best it's 30% of our block chance. Assuming a 30% block chance (which many would call OP), that's 0.3*0.3 = 0.09, or 9% chance to proc reckoning. Back, yes. Less chance than live (though at less of a cost) with what might be more block than we'll ever see.
