Lol.
Tanks getting mark is cheat xD
Basicly solohealed it this week with a restodruid.
Both marks got on the tanks, and the priest was spamming smite/holy fire the whole fight :P

Feint definitely works on Regular mode;

Code: Select all
21:24:03.828] Deathbringer Saurfang begins to cast Mark of the Fallen Champion
[21:24:05.515] Halion afflicted by Mark of the Fallen Champion from Deathbringer Saurfang
[21:24:08.234] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 4602
[21:24:09.750] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 4348
[21:24:11.125] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 4478
[21:24:12.343] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 4147
[21:24:12.656] Halion gains Feint from Halion
[21:24:12.656] Halion casts Feint on Deathbringer Saurfang
[21:24:13.500] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 1970

[21:24:18.234] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 2093
[21:24:18.718] Halion's Feint fades
[21:24:19.406] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 3873
[21:24:20.750] Deathbringer Saurfang Mark of the Fallen Champion Halion 4195

If feint works, then cats will probably take 30% less all the time.

Hotfixes today:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 8763&sid=1

Code: Select all
    * In the Lord Marrowgar encounters, the boss will no longer reset threat after a bone storm and will now wait a small amount of time before attacking at the end of a bone storm.
    * In the Deathbringer Saurfang encounters, the boss is now less likely to cast Blood Nova on targets affected by Mark of the Fallen Champion.
    * In both normal and heroic versions of the 10 player Rotface encounter, the mutated infection ability will not be cast as quickly while the fight progresses.
    * In the 10- and 25-player heroic Festergut encounters, the malleable goo ability should no longer target pets.
    * In the Valithria Dreamwalker encounters, the duration of Emerald Vigor and Twisted Nightmares were slightly increased.
    * In the Sindragosa encounters, the duration of the instability debuff was slightly reduced.

Slight nerf to Deathbringer, but wish it was Boiling Blood instead of Blood Nova

I need help with this fight...I cannot figure out what my group is doing wrong, if anything, and my team is about ready to give up on this fight for now. Our comp isn't ideal for this...MM hunter, Destro lock, and spriest for ranged, we have our resto druid rooting a mob until the second mark goes up (then we swap to our feral doing it), but it seems like as soon as we get a second mark, our healers can't keep up. We're using a holy pally and resto druid, is it possible that the lack of the 10% physical reduction is making the difference? My healers are good, but insist that they cannot 2-heal 2+ marks. This is our WoL report on him from last night. The first few attempts we were trying our feral as boomkin and our enh as ele, both of which were pretty bad. Any advice (even if it's just to say that my dps and heals aren't strong enough to do it right now) is greatly appreciated.

Jefferson, holy paladins are supposed to be able to handle two marks by themselves (beacon one, holy light spam the other). If the holy light target is in melee range, it also counts as minor raid healer.

Of course, in practice, it's not this simple. A single GCD to reapply beacon, done at the wrong time, will wipe you. Just have to figure out the tricks and hope for the best.

As for rogue using feint, think of mark as a giant bleed, ie; a dot, feint doesn't work as far as I know.

100% incorrect. It counts as a Cleave, so all reductions to AOE damage work.

All i can say is that trying to get guild fill-ins who have no experience since Spring Break is consuming some guildies is FTL.

Normal Mode bad habits are hard to break.

It's pretty clear what is going wrong, your healers aren't healing the people with the marks. 3 seconds without a heal and they will die. The people with the marks need to be spam healed for the remainder of the fight. If you don't have a holy paladin then you *will* need a hybrid DPS who can heal the tanks once the 2nd mark comes out.

I know it's unfashionable to blame healers for anything but you simply cannot miss a global cooldown for any reason on the marks once Saurfang is below 30%. This means that healers need to manage their mana so that they don't need to innervate/plea/shadowfiend/refresh beacon/judgement etc once this phase of the fight starts. They need to spam their mark and nothing else until Saurfang dies, it's that simple.

Yep, you got it. The heals aren't being spammed enough is all. There's way too much time between heals. Can't allow Mark to tick 3 times without a solid heal. If someone is already low with mark, don't throw a HoT on them, they need a proper heal ASAP then when they are safe you can roll HoTs on them. On Heroic, Marks are like tiny babies, they need close to 100% attention until it's over and the fight needs to end soon after the 2nd Mark.

You're also right about the fact that 1 misstep with your GCD can cause a mark to die. It helps to assign a specific healer to the first mark. This helps stop the mentality of "oh the other guy will get it". What I mean by this is, say 1-2 other people get hit hard, both healers think to themselves, "the other healer is spamming the mark, I'll top those 2 guys off quick". Scenarios like that are one thing that can cause 3+ second gaps in heals on the marks. So saying, "Ok Pally, you spam heal the first mark and nothing else, Druid, you heal everything else" will help. In short, just be vocal and specific about who's healing what and when.

That whole situation shouldn't matter though with a Holy Paladin. They should be able to keep up 2 marks with Beacon by doing nothing but spamming them though. Pleaing at the wrong time can cause a wipe easily. Make sure your Paladin is vocal about when he must do anything other than heal so the other healer can use a few GCDs on the marks while the Paladin Pleas/refreshes Beacon.

This is where I disagree with you though...(if I'm understanding what you said correctly, that you mean you need a hybrid DPS to be a 3rd healer when the 2nd mark happens if you don't have a Holy Paladin)
ydraw wrote:If you don't have a holy paladin then you *will* need a hybrid DPS who can heal the tanks once the 2nd mark comes out.

It's definitely 2 healable without a Pally. I do it with Druid/Disc--> http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/1a2r ... 195&e=2432

If you weren't saying that you need a hyrbid DPS to be a 3rd healer towards the end, then I apologize :)

In your log the priest did 200k healing on himself with binding heal. Getting the mark on a healing priest is probably the 2nd best result next to getting it on a tank.

If it goes on 2 mages it's going to be a lot more difficult.

this is a tough fight. wow.

beyond my expectations for sure for difficulty, what seemed to be necessary was RNG luck.

we had so many attempts where 1 of the 3 healers (and sometimes 2) got the marks. our kill attempt had 2 melee, of which i was healing since i am the only pally. as what was said the beacon 1, spam HL the other worked well. switching from tank certainly increased the difficulty for me. i can not imagine this with 2 healers

the beast control wasnt bad with 1 ranged, and 1 melee helping the ranged on each side. i think we did divert too much dps to beasts since our saurfang marks did get the 3 late in the enrage phase (and we got there most times). it was nice for the beasts to be a non-issue though. melee had to be very good with stuns, slows and no aggro pulling.

You should try to switch to two healers only, we're doing this everytime we face DBS it will make the fight much shorter leading to if execute correctly only two marks. With the Buff increased to 10% DPS / HP / Heal this fight is SOOO much easier since last week. Usually we need a couple tries to down him, yesterday this was a oneshot for us.

That's definitely one of the fights where 2-healing is easier than 3-healing. On our first kill we did get 3 marks up around when boss was at 2% but when healers just spamhealed themselves and tanks burned cooldowns we managed to down him with only two deaths being the tanks :D

After the first kill it has been a bit easier and I think we haven't even had the third mark popping up.
