[10] Nausea, Heartburn and Indigestion

My 10-man group did the Putricide achievement yesterday where you can't use the abom's slowing ability on the Volatile Oozes or Gas Clouds.

We made sure to get Putricide below 80% after the first Volatile Ooze died but before the first Gas Cloud spawned. If you can manage this, then he'll tick down to 74% or so just from DoTs during the stun.

There is a long pause before he does another Unstable Experiment also. We ended up popping heroism right at the start of P2 as a result, since there was an opportunity to get in a good 30 second burn on the boss before the Gas Cloud came out.

We didn't find Volatile Oozes particularly hard to deal with at all as long as people made sure to get knocked back towards the center of the room. They still tended to die after only 1 knockback.

Gas Clouds were a bit more problematic, but here we just relied on distance. Rather than trying to kite the Gas Cloud all over the room, the first person would just go into the far corner. The damage was reduced enough by the time the Gas Cloud reached that person that it ended up not being that bad. We found that prolonged kiting (especially if the person targeted was one of the two healers) just messed things up. It was easier to just make the cloud come through your raid so you had full DPS time on it.

Really for us what it boiled down to, though, was that first transition. If you can get Putricide to 80% before the first Gas Cloud comes out, then you can burn him to 50% with a Heroism at the start of P2, and the number of oozes and clouds you have to survive is quite small.

We also did this achievement on 10M last night, as well as rotface/festergut's achievements; and will be working on the 25M versions tonight. We found that both of the oozes/slimes were pretty easy to deal with as long as you just keep going MAX DISTANCE away from the spawn points. (Meaning I was pulling the boss alll the way to the opposite walls, and making sure we clumped up/Ran away fast.

Why exactly do you want to start at max distance from the green slimes? On 10 you can pretty much stack the raid on top of them, blow them half up as they spawn, have them knockback when they pick a target (KB does very little damage with the whole raid stacked) and then kill them.

Yeah we have since shifted to that strat (did that in 25 today).
