Overview classbuffs (adding health)

Postby yuuri » Thu Jun 12, 2008 4:09 am

Hi,

I have been searching this forum but didnt find a good overview with the buffs we ideally would want from each class to boost our stamina/health.

Below is based on my own findings and the replies in this thread/
The stamina/health-buffs so far. If people have comments on this list post it.

USE
You can use this overview as a checklist when you compose groups or raids in order to maximise your health. As checklist to select the best classes or as a checklist to see if the relevant buffs are given.

Ofcourse there are more considerations determining wich classes or buffs you need, this overview focuses on "maximum health via class-buffs".

LEGENDA
- class
- spell or talent
- rank spell or talent
- description spell or talent
- reference to wowhead
- part of spell or talent related to stamina/health translated in total health added (where the standard rule is 1 stamina = 10 health http://www.wowwiki.com/Attributes#Stamina)

HEALTH-BUFFS per CLASS

Druid
Mark of the Wild
Rank 8
Increases the friendly target's armor by 340, all attributes by 14 and all resistances by 25 for 30 min.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=26990
+14 stamina = 140 health

With the right talent this buff can be increased:
Improved Mark of the Wild
Rank 5
Increases the effects of your Mark of the Wild and Gift of the Wild spells by 35%.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=17055
+5 stamina = 50 health

Paladin
Greater Blessing of Kings
Gives all members of the raid or group that share the same class with the target the Greater Blessing of Kings, increasing total stats by 10% for 30 min. Players may only have one Blessing on them per Paladin at any one time.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=25898
+10% stamina (because the +10% is added at the end I will calculate the added health at the end)

Priest
Power Word: Fortitude
Rank 7
Power infuses the target increasing their Stamina by 79 for 30 min.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=25389
+79 stamina = 790 health

With the right talents this buff can be increased:
Improved Power Word: Fortitude
Rank 2
Increases the effect of your Power Word: Fortitude and Prayer of Fortitude spells by 30%.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=14767
+24 stamina = 240 health

Warlock
The warlock itself can not give a buff, but the imp the warlock can summon does:
Blood Pact
Rank 6
Increases party members' Stamina by 66.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27268
+70* stamina = 700 health

*at level 62 it gives 66 stamina, it scales with levels and at level 70 it gives 70 stamina

With the right talents this buff can be increased:
Improved Imp
Rank 3
Increases the effect of your Imp's Firebolt, Fire Shield, and Blood Pact spells by 30%.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=18696
+ 21* stamina = 210 health

*at level 62 it gives 20 stamina, it scales with levels and at level 70 it gives 21 stamina

Warrior
Commanding Shout
Rank 1
Increases maximum health of all party members within 20 yards by 1080. Lasts 2 min.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=469
+1.080 health

With the right talents this buff can be increased:
Commanding Presence Rank 5
Increases the melee attack power bonus of your Battle Shout and the health bonus of your Commanding Shout by 25%.
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=12861
+270 health

Hunter - none
Mage - none
Rogue - none
Shaman - none

MAXIMUM ADDED HEALTH

Druid +140 health (need to have spell)
Druid +50 health (need to have spell)
Priest +790 health (need to have spell)
Priest +240 health (need to have spell)
Warlock +700 health (need to be in party)
Warlock +210 health (need to be in party)
Warrior +1.080 health (need to be in party and within 20 yards)
Warrior +270 health (need to be in party and within 20 yards)

Total = 3.480 health (without sacred duty/combat expertise/BoK)

Adding effect of Sacred Duty and Combat Expertise
Considering a tankadin has spent maximal his/her point on the talents
- Sacred Duty http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31849
- Combat Expertise http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31862
we can count with an extra stamina modifier of 1,16
+ 547 health

Total = 4.037 health (without BoK)

Adding effect of BoK
To calculate the added health I have taken my own tankadin as reference, my gear level = kara+ and I have 14177 health (unbuffed, uncrittable and uncrushable).
14.177 * 10% = 1.418 health
4.037 * 10% = 404 health
+ 1.822 health

Total = 5.859

Erm, ok.

Warlock Imp Buff
Priest Stam Buff
Paladin BoK Buff
Druid MotW Buff
Warrior Commanding Shout

Are there anymore? Obviously there are more which affect how our stamina performs for us by altering/affecting the target but as for direct party stam buffs?

Both the Priest and Warlock buffs have improved forms.

My Fortitude gives 103 Stamina.

Kings is a multiplier that should be considered right at the end, as a straight 1.1 x (whatever your buffed stamina before kings is). So, it boosts all the buffs that give you more stamina - that 103 stamina from improved power word: fortitude becomes 103 + 10.3 = 113.3 = 113 after rounding.

You're using a lot of fractions in your calculations, but the game doesn't, it just rounds. So 4.9 stamina = 5 stamina = 50 health (I think it rounds to the closest, not down, but I'm not 100% sure).

This is a very useful post. The only thing I noticed at first glance was, as mentioned above, how Kings was figured.

It just seems odd. I think +10% stamina would be sufficient. Also, the thread title is weird. Oh, and we have the WoWhead plugin for easy-to-make embedded item, spell, and quest links here. I'd recommend using WoWhead links.
I rule.

I changed the calculations, rounded them off.

Doesnt BoK add +10% to your base stats only?

The warlock imp blood pact buff actually scales with level. A level 70 imp gives 72 stam untalented.
