I dropped precision.

Postby Kalakaua » Wed Jun 11, 2008 4:14 pm

In my guild, I'm usually either AoE tanking, or tanking a "kill 2nd" add. I feel that precision is not all that useful for aoe tanking and when I tank single targets, I usually have plenty of time to build up tons of threat.

I put the points of precision into pursuit of justice and so far I love it. I find it very helpful while picking up adds on Alar and it's useful to quickly get to my spot in hyjal. Will I regret dropping precision later on?

for hyjal trash, you won't miss it much.

but during 2 boss fights, there'll be trash needed to be picked up by off tanks, if your guild uses 2 tanks for them, then it wouldn't really be a problem. as you can sit back and let the other tank bring it to you, and what not.

Well, it really sucked when I tried to pick up Veras with AS, it seemed to miss almost every time and sometimes I wasn't in range to hit him with judgement of blood, so I had to go chasing after him while he killed healers. This was with precision and probably no gear with hit rating or very little. Now, when I remember, I wear praetorian and pepe's. I don't have Supremus's ring or a neck with hit rating, although I could buy the SSO neck.

So, IMO, it would be really helpful if you need to pick up something.

Veras is targetable for probably a good 3 seconds before he goes darting off after a healer; I usually have time to drop a cons on him, cast an AS, and hit him with a JoB before he can look at someone else twice.

Your mileage may vary.

I dont know much about the zone or situation.. honestly didnt really read most of the post.

I did how ever see "JoB"

JoB is based off weapon damage

JoR is based off spell power

Is there something i am missing here, why on earth are you useing JoB over JoR?

JoB is unresistable and never misses.

JoB doesn't use spell hit like JoR?

Read again^^

There is nothing for spell hit or melee hit to reduce, it is unresistable and never misses.

There are only two possibilities:
1. The mob is immune.
or
2. You get some threat.

As a Blood Elf Tankadin, I start out every pull with it. Heck, it'd almost be irresponsible not to, considering the high resist rate of JoR. It's also fun to use on cloaked rogues. It is PARITALLY resistable, though. It happened one time when I was tanking Veras, and I had to taunt him off of a Warlock who was probably life tapping.

I checked the log, and it said it was partially resisted. I've still never seen it fully resist, though.
