Heroic Presence and 2/3 Precision?

Postby Ilian » Thu May 29, 2008 8:01 am

I was looking at a BE prot build that sacrificed one point in precision for PoJ in Ret.

Suddenly, I realized that Draenei prot pallies have an extra 1% to hit thanks to the Heroic Presence racial. Is there any reason why I shouldn't drop a point in Precision on my Draenei pally so I can use it elsewhere?

Well the melee hit cap is still at 9% which you are far away from even with Precision, and the spellhit cap is 16% which is unachievable without making ridiculous gear choices.
So even with the racial, nothing is wasted. IMO, there are better places to drop talent points for PoJ.
If it is weak, kill it before it gets stronger. If it is strong, weaken it.

Correct. The cap is at 9%. What you are suggesting though is, you can spend 1% less talent point to achieve the same performance as a non Draenei, you can think that way, but I'd rather remove 1% from my gear for some SD than to put 1 talent point into some marginally useful talent.

Plus, the 1% racial is an aura, most other race tankadins get it from groupies anyway which mean they'll out perform you then.

Get Boar's Speed instead. 8% run speed is better than 5%.

If you want to throw a point somewhere, reckoning and imp SotC are preferable.

It's actually pretty easy to hit in Tier 6+ with neck/ring/shield/helm options.

Melee hit I can get, there's loads of "warrior" gear out there we can have a use for as well. I also never said melee hit cap was unachievable (not needed, but doable) How do you get 13 additional percent of spellhit though. Since it takes up a considerable amount of item points and there really isn't that much spell hit in T6 except if you buy all the badge pieces for it, you shouldn't have a lot of avoidance/hp left.
