he hits for 100
BoSanc takes 10 leaving 90
RF takes 6% leaving 84.6
armor 50% leaving 42.3
block value takes 10 leaving 32.3
computer rounds to 32

*armor and RF can be swapped around the rest have to be in that order*

Actually (iirc) should be:
he hits for 100
BoSanc takes 10 leaving 90
RF takes (6% of 90)=5.4 leaving 84.6
armor (50% of 90)=45.0 leaving 39.6
block value takes 10 leaving 29.6
computer rounds to 29

Really? The RF reduction is not used as part of the calculation for armor reduction? So it is a full 6% off the top and does not modify armor?

It is even better than I suspected if that is the case.

I love having just over 55% damage migitation from armor. Makes AoE grinding SO much fun!!

Cheers,

RF is straight incoming damage reduction, a la Defensive Stance. It also affects magic damage, which it why I think it might be applied pre-BoSanc.

doesn't matter for spells:
he spellhits for 100
BoSanc takes 10 leaving 90
RF takes (6% of 90)=5.4 leaving 84.6
armor (0% of 90)=0 leaving 84.6
block value takes 0 leaving 84.6
computer rounds to 85

BoSanc: Places a Blessing on the friendly target, reducing damage dealt from all sources

According to WoWWiki, RF is applied after BoSanc, in line with the scenarios posted above.

Too bad.

Actually it would be:
he hits for 100
BoSanc takes 80 leaving 20
RF takes (6% of 20)=1.2 leaving 18.8
armor ( 50% of 18.8 )=9.4 leaving 9.4
block value takes 10 leaving -0.6
computer rounds to 0[/quote]

Righteous Fury is multiplicative with AC, not additive. The guy you quoted, Blutreich, was more right than you.

If you wanted an equation for lvl 73 melee with 3/3 imp RF and max rank BoSanc:

Code: Select all
(DMG - 80)*0.94*11960
---------------------      -     BV
     (AC+11960)

I was using a rank 1 BoSanc since we where doing such a small hit, your math is the exact same as mine except you used a higher rank BoSanc

also anyone know of an addon or a good formula so you can reverse engineer the unmitigated hit out of the damage you take?

I was telling the person who corrected you that you were indeed correct :)

As for your question, I bet it would be a nice thing to pass on to _chloe for a tankadin plugin
