How to grind Casters?

Postby Hideaki » Sat May 03, 2008 12:50 pm

Guys, I'm pretty new to the Tankadin thing.

I was ret all the way, now I'm 62 and I respecced to learn how 2 tank.

I'm fine dealing with meele mobs. I can pull like 2 or 3 with the same lvl and have no problems at all. BoSanc + Retri Aura + SoWis is working just fine and I don't have much downtime. I just use HolySh in the cooldown and split some Consacrations.

The main problem is when I face casters. Take years to drop one down...

I'd like some pro advises of how to grind faster.

Thanks in advance,

Hideaki, Warsong US Server.

You don't really grind casters. Just kinda avoid them and, when need be, fight them one by one with SoV.

There's no grinding casters as Prot. If I know I'm about to fight a caster, I put on my Ret gear in item rack and smack them down with Seal of Blood and hope for a couple 1600 white crits so they die as fast as possible and I can get back to fighting non casters.

I put on healing gear - got +280 ish damage and 7k mana - can go through a decent few and heal when required for 3k non crit before I have to drink.

Speccing for holy shock is pretty sweet though 8)

Let's just say that if complete and utter chaos was lightning, he'd be the sort to stand on a hilltop in a thunderstorm wearing wet copper armour and shouting 'All gods are bastards'.

I bring a DPS class with me - my preferred choice is my good friend logged in as his mage.
Phlik - 70 Paladin - Goblin Engineer/Armorer
Rhuk - 70 Druid - Elixir Master

Honestly casters have never really bothered me much. Once you hit 64, you just use SoV on them with spell dmg gear. They die quickly enough. Before then, I just used SoR. They don't die as fast as melee, but it isn't that bad. Of course, I really haven't played many high DPS classes, so maybe my perception of fast enough isn't skewed by having played with faster dps.
