Get as many mobs as possible, JoW,SoW, maz rank const/holy shield, if health goes low switch to light, throw in hammer of justice if i get the chance, reapply seal of wisdom on new mobs as targets fall. Ret Aura, Blessing of Sanct.
Single targets, blessing of wisdom judge wisdom seal righteousness/vengeance judge and reseal every 8 secs, holy shield if redoubt pops

For me, it all depends on the mob.
Versus a caster, I'll JotC, then follow with SoR/JoR. If they have a really annoying ability I'll throw in rank 5 Consecrate as well. If he's throwing swings between spells, Rank 1 HS will be used too.
I'll treat a "magic melee" mob (eg Mana Wraith) as an annoying caster. Hate those guys.
Versus a single melee mob, I use Rank 1 HS / SoR / JoR. If my mana is full at the start of the fight, I'll use JotC, otherwise JoW. Of course I'm more likely to use JotC versus a demon or undead, because it boosts Exorcism too.
Versus more than one mob, HS goes to max rank. Versus more than two, I drop Consecrate rank 5 as well. Versus more than three, that becomes max rank Consecrate.
I use BoW and Ret Aura always, and my Petrified Lichen Blocker. Mmm, licheny good.
Oh, and I love my Everlasting Underspore Frond - if you don't have one, get it. Even though it isn't great, 10 free food every 12 hours is worthwhile.
I never use JoL unless I'm in trouble. I figure as long as I end the fight on +ve life, using JoW and hitting Flash of Light a couple of times at the end is strictly more efficient. Of course, if I have a crowd beating on me, all bets are off.

As an alternative to grinding Death's Door, I've started grinding the ethereum's along the south edge of Manaforge Ultris. Basically, the 'beltway' where Ethereum Jailor's spawn (occasionally!)
Drops a ton of Netherweave, they attack fast, die easy, and hit for nothing.
If I use seal of light and walk backwards, I can easily pull a group of up to 20+ without worry. Judge light on one, put up seal of wisdom, and spam consecrates / holy shields. They'll go down in no time. Respawns are quick, and you might get an Ethereum Prison Key for some bonus Lower city rep (500) or random blue or something.

I like my everlasting underspore pod, 10 free water every 12 hours!
I normally pick a mob to "mana up" on too, since its about the same time as drinking but gives you some cash.
I used to use JoW/SoB/holyshield/BoSanc to grind up to 70, but now that SoB doesn't double proc judgments its less usefull for grinding. Still seems better than SoR though based on my +crit plate from Qs compared to my +spell damage plate.

Do you get Consortium rep for those? (For how long?)

You don't get "direct" Consortium rep, but you can get, as he said, an Ethereum Prison Key which you can use and 500 rep not just with Lower City, but almost any faction (save Scryers and Aldor). Including Keepers of Time. Just need to do the prequest for getting Ethereum Prison Keys.Arcand wrote:Do you get Consortium rep for those? (For how long?)
For the best source of Consortium rep, go to the Ethereal camp south of Area 52 and hunt for Zaxxis Insignias. Ethereum Prison Key can drop from those mobs as well.

I run a 10/41/10 build w/ 5 points into Seal of Righteousness. Using this build for soloing I use a standard JotC w/ SoR on the mobs w/ as much + Spell Damage & Int on my gear as I have. Generally, I'll run 4 or 5 mobs with a Consecration and HS. Eat/drink and go again.
Using this build while tanking allows me to immediately Judge Righteousness after I pull and then bring up SoV for a decent aggro jump. So far this has been working for me and I haven't had much of a reason to change as of yet. We'll see what the future holds when I start running Heroics.

I have a build heavy in retribution (with sanc aura and imp sanc aura)and as a blood elf i find it useful to run with a melee dps set (for the most part) for seal of blood (as i don't have SoV)
i use a 2h oathkeeper for caster types and latro's shifting sword and a shield for melee or multiples.
(tank type gear is for groups where me maintaining agro is crucial.)
imp righteous fury (to take less damage)
sanc aura (+holy damage from judgements +2% dps)
jotc (better judgements)
seal of blood (solid dps with melee gear and 2H weapon as needed)
HolyShield as necessary (or not... if i have my 2H out)
consecrates if I am trying to tag stuff and kill it all fast for a group situation, but usually not.
situationally i will seal of light/judge light for healing return ....
JoW + SoB is also handy for minimizing downtime from drinking.
my soloing set (to maximize SoB efficiency) is lower def, high AP and dps and comparatively low spell damage.

Bump!
I think this is an interesting topic, and would like to hear more tactics - how do you go around doing everyday killing? Quests, dailies, farming etc. Those situations where you can't AoE-tank effectively.
I'm considering doing some Arenas, and I'm close to having enough points to buy my first PvP Honor piece, so I have to choose between Lamellar and Scaled (not going to healbot, paladin healing, blergh). I think I'd actually like PvPing as a Shockadin slightly more, but I'm thinking that taking the Scaled set would allow me to kill decently well with a full Tankadin build, better then Lamellar anyways. Especially considering I have Seal of Blood available.
What gear do you guys think yields the highest killing rate vs single targets? Shockadin gear without the spec, or Retadin gear without the spec, but with Seal of Blood?

A big honking weapon and a good good seal/judge rotation. Personal preference until I get farther in Karazhan and get my hands on one of the epic 2Hs is the 2H Axe from the Cipher of Damnation questline. It's got decent DPS (late 80s), STR, STA, Spell and regular crit and some spell damage. It's quite good. My usual seal rotation is lead in with JoW, then SoR > JoR > SoR (repeat) and Righteous Fury and Blessing of Wisdom to keep my mana up (lose more money and time to buying and using water than you would with BoW). Mind you, I'm a human Pally, so I don't have SoB to work with, which may be more valuable. Talk to someone like Lore for that info.Aina wrote:Those situations where you can't AoE-tank effectively.

Are you pulling Ethereum Avengers (the ones with charge) and Ethereum Nullifiers (the ones who turn ghostlike and take 20% less melee damage but 40% more spell)? Or am I in the wrong place?
