Well when would be a good time? There's got to be a cutoff at some point.

Presumably before anyone gets a kill.

To play devil's advocate's advocate though, blizzard isn't in the business of setting up fair competitions between guilds, just of making good bosses. So if their improvements are discovered only by people killing bosses in unintended ways, they don't have much choice in when to implement fixes.

Well that's my point. Most of us don't care all that much about world firsts, and far far less care about world thirds...
I'm sure they'd love to have it perfect before the encounter is released, but once they realize there's a problem do you really expect them to sit on the solution until X number of guilds get a kill?

I am reminded of the controversy around the original hard mode Hodir, and how that affected the Algalon race.

I wouldn't compare this to Hodir. Sure, this will inflate wowprogress scores for Stars and Paragon, but progression isn't materially affected. You aren't going to hit a 25, 45, or 50 attempt remaining run with Anub'arak in his current state.
Holy Wrath chaining was known, discussed, and even used on the PTR. I posted in one of the original Anub'arak PTR feedback threads about it possibly being overpowered and trivializing portions of the encounter. This definitely should not have gone live.
Anyway, world "third" of Anub'arak certainly will be the most prestigious kill if we don't see a wave of nerfs in the following weeks.

Who knows, maybe they got their team of 5 whole developers together to test it out and figured it wasn't a big deal.

Yep, "buffed" version down too, with 28 attempts remaining :/

Re: [25 Heroic] Anub'arak
premo was getting low hp wipes last week when they ran out of attempts, and they basically had the fight in the bag. The number of attempts it took them this week to come up with a revised strategy doesnt seem unreasonable given the buff to the encounter.
This is honestly sort of what i was expecting to happen.

Re: [25 Heroic] Anub'arak
I am surprised that there is like, 0 mention of Premonition's kill. mmo-champ, worldofraids, tankspot, no body really cares about 3rd in the world, even after the hotfixes I guess.
I'm most interested in the tribute chests and how much/what kind of loot was in them. Hoping that 25 man will have more regalia tokens than 10 man had trophies. Just don't see how it will be possible to gear an entire guild up with 258 t9 with only 2-4 tier tokens a week dropping.

For what it's worth, the guilds that killed it last week got two regalia, which goes in line with getting two trophies for the same amount of kills on 10-man.
So...
So...

Re: [25 Heroic] Anub'arak
Do you get 2 trophies for at least 1 attempt remaining on 10m?
I was highly disappointed Premo only got two Regalia with 25 attempts remaining. Four Regalia with 45+ attempts remaining seems far too little.

Quoting myself again:
Last ID we had two grps getting Tribute to Skill and one only killing Anub'arak - first part confirmed.
Yesterday one grp managed to get Tribute to Insanity and one Tribute to Mad Skill - second part confirmed.
Each Achievement includes the loot of the ones before.
If it works the same way in 25men one could be happy to get one piece of HM Set before ICC
Anub'arak down - 2 Trophys
Tribute to Skill - Weapon
Tribute to Mad Skill - 4 Trophys (that means 2 extra for getting this)
Tribute to Insanity - Cloak and Mount

P3 before the Holy Wrath nerf compares to the difficultly of some of the hardest pre-nerf Ulduar encounters. P3 without a Holy Wrath stun order is going to be insane. No, I doubt we'll see a kill this week. I'd predict at least a month before the next kill and no repeat kills by Stars/Paragon while DPS pick up ilvl 245/258 weapons and tanks pick up ilvl 258 armor.
Sooo he's dead again, with < 5 wipes this time... http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/ima ... skill2.jpg
to paragon again. Just need stars to come through with a 0-5 wipes kill now.
