My guild has one mace made, and a second mace at 13 shards. We've been clearing the place every week since the first week though.

Our second mace is at like six shards, though we do have a transfer who brought 13 and a priest who has 15ish from the alt raids.

What are the difficulties for doing YS+3 minus Thorim?

I don't know but my guild maybe left him out because it was Monday and wanted to try YS, but It seems adds were eating out brains out on phase 3.

Our best effort was about 30%...

What buffs/helps Thorim gives to the raid?

We also having a bad run on shards, we are at 10 shards total, I haven't seen any drop for the last 3 weeks, so that's about 33 bosses 0 drops, and we did some hard modes FL, Steel, Kolo, etc.

Without thorim you are basicly doing the "hardest mode" of yogg-saron, without thorim phase3 is changed drasticly. The adds can't be finished off the boss and adds heal for a lot and the tanks will keep dieing due to adds hitting too hard and dps not being able to out dps the heal.

I wish our guild had any of your guys luck. We have 1 person who just got his 17th shard, weve been clearing the place forever the shards just NEVER drop. We got 1 shard this whole clear off of yogg, that was it.
