Champion of Ulduar + Mimiron trash question-

The achievement states "Defeat each boss in Ulduar on Normal Difficulty without allowing any raid member to die to that boss at any point during that raid lockout period." Basically I take it to mean you must one-shot each boss in the list with no deaths of course.

Well, we have been kind of cheesing Mimiron trash in order to save some time. We have someone grab the first spider bot and jump over the groups, and then aggro Mimiron and bubblehearth out. This unlocks his teleport and resets him with no deaths, technically...

Unfortunately we had someone die on P2 even with three healers so we couldn't find out if it would count for the undying achievement ot not. Anyone know in particular? or should we just clear trash

First attempt is a first attempt man, the game doesnt know that you cheated your way in just to get the port.

All it knows is, im engaged, oh, im reset. there goes your attempt.

I don't see why you skip trash anyways, its no longer than 5-10 min

Uh... it says "no deaths," not "first attempt."


I don't think it would ruin your champion counter, but you should just clear trash to be safe. It's so easy.

No deaths means no deaths to the boss at all during the lockout aka clean kill first attempt. I haven't specifically confirmed the Mimiron example you gave, but I would assume that doing so kills the achievement on him for the week.

I would assume that, since nobody is actually dying, it won't kill your counter, but I wouldn't be prepared to find out if I were you.

I suppose we'll just clear trash, only really thought about it after someone brought up our list for that achievement.

The Undying achievements don't fail until someone dies, why would this be any different? The failure trigger is player death during raid combat with that boss. Once the boss dies, the achievement suspends until the next boss encounter, which is why people report not losing immortal to poison clouds or razuvious adds post-boss death.

So, let's not assume that a boss resetting will fail you until we've actually tried it, k?

Easy enough to test if someone can be bothered. Take an alt that doesn't have the achievement for a boss pull then hearth (Razorscale would be a good choice) and then come back and kill him.

So I'm looking at my achievement list for last week's lockout and we were doing hard mode everything so people could get their drakes and it's showing complete for kills as long as we killed the boss with everyone alive.

On a slightly related note,

I have heard (unconfirmed) reports that using the spider bots to skip the mimiron trash is something that the Blues frown upon. One of my guildies (who is often a very reliable source of information) claims that he saw a post about some guilds getting 24hr bans for doing this.

At work atm so can't search around to try and confirm this

The trash is actually pretty fun.
