[10]Razorscale
Okay, so our guild goes in to get started with a little Ulduar last night, it winds up being a 3 ring circus to get a group that can stay together, but we down Flame Leviathan, and move on to Razorscale. Once we're at Razorscale, our night exploded. Instead of the usual 2 mole machines, the fewest we got were 3, and quite often were getting 4 at a time. Is this a bug fix (We almost never got the tall guys before, last night they actually started coming out, which was interesting) or did they change something about Razorscale that flew straight over my head?
Personally, I think ToC had the hardest trash in the game. Wait... what do you mean? Those were bosses!? Lies.

Re: [10]Razorscale
We noticed no different last night on our 10man kill.
We did however notice a difference on Kologarn... he now requires someone to actually be meleeing the chest rather than just be in melee range or else he'll start doing petrifying breath. I used to just chuck my AS to get aggro on the chest and then beat on the arm until it was dead. Now I have to attack the chest the whole fight. Doesn't really make the fight any harder, just took us a couple insta wipes before we realized that something had changed.

Sometimes they spawn slow, sometimes they spawn fast. It shouldn't be difficult, either way. Just pick them up and aoe them down if need be.
Best of luck -- you'll get it!

Re: [10]Razorscale
thanks for the responses, I think the problem was that we were in there close to midnight with half of our raid annoyed/tired from the 3 ring circus to get the group together, and we were getting pissed off that every flame patch was landing in the middle of the melee

Put a caster (preferably a healer) in the middle of the circle. They can dodge the flames from Razorscale, letting the dps not have to worry about it.

Re: [10]Razorscale
If you set Razor as your target you can see when she is casting the Blue Flame. If you have your Focus' Target window up you can also see who she's casting it at. It has a cast time ... so just move out of the way before it finishes and you'll never be hit.

We use a hunter, but same concept. If you have one person in the circle, and everyone else outside of the circle, the blue flame will only go after the one person inside the circle. Also this only works the first time she is in the air. Once she comes down and goes back up again, the flames will be all over the place once again and melee will have to keep an eye out.

What rokkon has said. The first air phase is correct, the second air phase she moves slightly more north and more... ummm further away from where you came in. Can't remember if that's east or west.

Razorscale will cast the flame patch at the target closest to her. In the first phase, this is in the middle of the circle. In subsequent air phases, this is usually on the left side of the platform, towards the tower.
We have a hunter standing in the middle with no one near him. He moves when he sees her casting it and takes little-to-no damage. After the first ground phase, he moves to the new position.
Unless a tank fails to grab newly spawned adds, the "flame kiter" is almost completely safe and prevents the rest of the raid from taking damage from flame patches.

Re: [10]Razorscale
Yeah, that job is usually my job.
We set our raid up in the back of the room opposite where the Harpoons are with 2 healers and all DPS grouped up with the tanks in front. The tanks stay where the mole machines spawn and aggro the mobs. I stand in the middle-front part of the circle (nearest the Harpoons) with my Beacon on me healing the tanks and moving when required to avoid the flames.
You want to stay in the front part of the circle at the end of the phase so when flame patches are up when Razorscale comes down that the melee DPS can immediatly get to work on her and not have to worry about standing in the flames.
The only time there is a possible issue is when the DPS who is assigned to trigger the harpoons runs through the action and the circle to get to them. Very occassionally, they will then become the target of Razorscale's flame attacks; but that has not happened often to us.
On the second phase, I move to the upper left part of the circle (as seen from the doorway) and Razor continues to cast her flame patches at me.
That works for us.
Cheers,

Re: [10]Razorscale
Lookin for a bit of help here, we did 9 man razor last night, waiting for our 10th to sign on. He went down, but I was mostly useless on phase 2 because my taunts kept failing, due to razor being immune. I don't think it was DR on taunts, because of how arbitrary it was (some taunts working, some not). The other tank was a DK, if it matters. I'll post the WWS, but here's the breakdown on our taunts. Are all the ones that fail because of DR? Any help will be appreciated.

Yep, "Immune" is the response to DR on taunts.
Horrid, isn't it?

Your DK keeps using Dark Command and DG at the same time, which needs to stop. You're often taunting within a couple of seconds of each other which doesn't help either.
