Unless someone is stupid, he won't get rooted because roots are not 'on-proc' spells. He would have to cast the immobilize spell for him to turn around to twat the melee. Or if you are running with pvp speced dps, who has improved slows that also immobilize...

I believe that this was in reference to the 10-man version, where Snaplasher's stacking +damage buff also slows him down until he becomes rooted.
