[10] Ignis - Now with added Zerg.
After the changes on Monday morning. Ignis is now zergable. Just have the OT collect all the adds while everyone burns him down. It took 4-5 adds up before his damage output felt comparable to Hodir, and at around 6 adds he still wasn't one shotting the tank. We killed at 5 1/2 minutes which isn't all that great but at that point you still aren't in the range to need tank cds.

Never happened, I didn't seem to be targetable for it, since I went the night without being hit, even before we tried the zerg. However, had earthbind,warstomp, and a druid to aoe taunt and then kitty sprint away just in case. And if that didn't work our prot warrior (on Ignis) was going to do that whole charge stunlock thing since the adds are well away from the group and you have time to see them coming.

Hell, if he's zergable, it's still probably a good idea to do the fight the correct way until you've shattered the first several adds.

Well, from the blue post today the OT is slag pot immune while tanking almost all the time. Now you don't even have to worry about that.
Ignis sometimes will slag pot the offtank dealing with constructs.
The protections in place work most of the time, but we're still investigating reports on this. Note that the protection is only granted if the tank is actively being melee'd by the construct. If players immobilize the construct and the tank backs away, the tank will not have the slag pot protection.

You could burn ignis on 10 before any changes.

Haven't never done the fight before, I have a question. If he's hitting for 25-30k a hit, and a tank has around 35k health, wouldn't he be smushing the tank prior to the 5 minute timer?

He is definitely not hitting that hard in 10 man. He was bugged last week in the first part of the week, and on top of that fix they nerfed his top end hit size.pedal2000 wrote:Haven't never done the fight before, I have a question. To answer my own question: Yes, there is not much need to shatter anything on Ignis if you have the DPS to kill later bosses. OTOH it's probably easier to do it anyway, but I would guess you will have less healing to do if you OT everything and never stand in fire if you can help it.
10-man, we killed him in 3:02, far ahead of the achievement time, with 2T / 2H. A 10-man geared group can probably nail the achievement with 2T/3H.

Tried this last night after a few failed attempts doing the traditional method. We found our DK was terrible with adds and much better for main tanking while I could pick up the adds and full-block a few of their attacks.
Sadly, it was our last attempt of the night and our MT died to a 12k hit with 5 stacks up. Definitely doable with 2/6/2 if your healers are on the ball.

We were using 2 tanks 5 dps 2 heals and an ele/resto shaman who healed at 3 adds up.

on 25's how long did this take you, and what was your average raid dps given that?
