Arena Resilience Gear
Is it viable to use any of this as tanking gear? How great a benefit/detriment is resilience on armor?

Resilience, like Defense, reduces the chance you get critted. It even works better on it, as you only need 40 Resilience Rating to have it reduced by 1%, while you need 60 Defense Rating. In addition:
- Resilience also works against spells! However, spells from mobs never crit, so this is a useless addition.
- Resilience also reduces the damage you get when critted! However, you probably want to be crit immune anyhow.
Defense however also gives +Miss, +Dodge, +Parry and +Block. Resilience does nothing after making you crit immune. Defense is therefor a lot more useful.
Conclusion, when considering items that have Resilience on them, consider them as if they had 0 Resiliense Rating.
If, besides that, you still equip Resilience gear (Gladiator's Gavel for example), then for every 1.6 Resilience you have, you can have your Defense 1 point below 490 (if you can find more Dodge than Defense for example).

Resilience is in fact a quicker and cheaper way to reach uncrittable if that's all you're after, but keep in mind that 490 defense also adds 5.6% Dodge, Parry, Block, and Miss. That's a total benefit of 22.4% on the way to being uncrushable. Much more worthwhile than just stacking Resilience.
