Trinket Decisions; or, how much to stamwhore

Postby Julian » Thu Apr 26, 2007 9:58 am

Semi-crossposted from EJ forums, where the discussion had moved past this.

Would you rather equip Dawnstone Crab and Adamantine Figurine, or would you rather equip Living Ruby Serpent and Figurine of the Colossus?

Assume that either pair gets you to uncrushable, but that you need one of those two pairs to hit uncrushability. Also assume that you don't need the +defense to be uncrittable.

Leaving the clicky effects aside for the moment, you're essentially choosing between 27 points of actual defense-- which equals 3.12% outright evasion in miss/dodge/parry-- and 33 stamina.

Seems like a blowout to me in favor of the evasion, but maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way. Opinions? How much stamina would you have to get back to give up 3.12% evasion, under the assumptions above? Would it be enough if the +sta trinket in question was one of the +45 sta engineering trinkets?

Also note that this is pretty much an optimal situation for switching defense rating out for block rating+stamina. If we don't want to do it here, I have a hard time believing that we want to do it anywhere.

I would dearly love to be less spike-prone, but this seems like a horrifically high cost to pay.

Given that reaching uncrushability already requires a very high amount of avoidance, I'd go for the stamina.

I'm with Lore in this. If you can reach Crushing immunity with both go for stamina.

Are you serious?

Man that sucks, looks like I'll be:
1) Leveling Engineering
2) Going into debt just to Start these quests

Dude... once you complete the quest series and grind enough rep, you get a dragon mount.
Dragon mount!

Dragon!
Mount!

The fact that we get an awesome trinket on the side is just icing on the cake.

Dragonmount.

Which is why, I'll be going into debt.
Check my name, no one is more excited about a Dragon mount than me.

I only have 1600g right and I need to get to 5000g or whatever to buy the skill. They said above that you can't do the Quests without the skill.

On top of that, I need to level engineering more to make my helm and then one Chicken Trinket to go with the Dragon Trinket.

All of those added together = me in serious debt

Is this the quest line that has the protector/defender of the netherwing shield?
