Acknowledge that his initial threat is really cool and awesome, and then remind him politely that when you are MT, anyone who pulls threat off you needs to watch his threat more closely.

If it's a free-for-all, highest-threat-tanks situation, then we may as well just give all the tanking duties to Warriors and DKs. Otherwise, if you have assigned who is going to tank the boss, the other guy needs to control his threat.

I have to agree with Lev. If he cannot work as part of a team and do his role and gear for that role then have a word with him. If he still won't change then bench him.

It doesn't have to be stressful or a fight with your co-tank for aggro. Work as a team. I don't think your co-tank understands that as he is geared for threat from what you have said although armsman on gloves? seriously?

I personally would consider letting him tank first for certain bosses and then simply taunt off him when required by the fight. Sounds to be like he wants to be Main GUILD TANK tm. Anyone who thinks like that is living the game from 4 years ago.

Well, the specific example I can provide is BLood Queen 25 normal mode. I even switched to Blood Venom blade + Berserking and the Greatness + War Token trinkets, to pump up extra dps since it's normal mode. Yet, a couple of sec after I charged in, he got a pretty solid threat lead-in. I couldn't take the boss away from him for the whole fight, although I was slowly catchign up on threat, was at 107% of his threat in the end. Of course, I couldn't benefit from Holy Shield aggro, which is quite a big chunk in this fight, but still, I had dps trinkets and sword... Which tends me to believe either he got ToT-ed at start, or he got a lucky Wings + glyphed frizbee crit, or both. Or I just suck lol.

As for gearing threat - nah, he isn't (anymore). His mantra was that you need hit and exp cap, goal N.1, and was putting even some str gems back in Ulduar. Currently, though, when I compared gear, I have 10 attack power less, but 60 hit rating more. Expertise is the same I think. So the only difference is that Armsman enchant. And, to be honest, 2% threat can't lead to such "phenomena" :)

There is 5 nasty solutions to this.

A) you have a nice talk sit down with him

B) you yell at your MD/ToT

C) you salv him yes. you have that tool drops his threat by 2% every 1 seconds for 10 seconds (so a 20% threat drop)

D) BoP them. There immune you get threat and start using your shield make sure to taunt to cement it further if you can. Forbearance sucks but if there not going to be a team player you have to either get used to it or get after them to change there ways.

E) if in doubt and not immune just taunt it back if your suppose to be taking the hits. (ie raid leader says your taking the hits on BQL while this other tank is just soaking dmg). If it goes taunt immune and you need it you can point it to the raid (to leader or in public your discretion)

Fact is once you get a threat lead they have to have over 10% more threat output to overtake you.

example your at 10k tps with a 100k threat lead and they would have to be doing 11.92k tps to over take the 10% total threat threshold at 120 seconds. Short version person X needs 19% more threat then person Y to overtake the 10% threat threshold at 120 seconds aka cooldown time on hand of salv >=). So if you get a threat lead at the start its damn near impossible to lose it unless they can spike ahead of you.

I know how much he has to generate in order to outaggro me
And yeah, I know taunting is a solution, but I just hate it and use it as last resort. Can't go for the RL, the tank assignments are left for the tanks to decide between themselves. And expressing that in public is a bit shit, will have even more negative results, like "You are a pussy , you can't even hold the mob you're supposed to be tanking" / "If you can't get it, then don't tank it", etc (just guesses). But yeah, will talk with him if it goes like that, and will taunt if needed. Just wanted to make sure that it's not me who is doing something wrong/thinking wrong/missing to do something. :)

Get Taunt Tattle to see if he's not cheating.
If it is weak, kill it before it gets stronger. If it is strong, weaken it.

Here's how i see if he agreed to have you be the one taking the hits (or the tanks are in agreement on this) then what the issue with asking for a neutral 3rd party to intervene? If not a addon that tells if he's taunting (i know there's one that anounces when they are cast and if its miss or hit)would be a innocent way to find out. You would want that addon anyways on anything that you needed taunted and communicated to the raid. All else fails after he captain Americas pop salv or bop him. Also dont feel bad about taunting. There is literally only only 4(5) bosses i can think of that getting taunt immune = wipe. Saurafang (tank swaps), sindragosa (tank swaps), lichking (tank swaping), prof putricide (tank swaps) and lastly festergut (tank swap but should only need 1-2 taunts total). Also little trick if you want to outdo go Captain america>taunt asap at stat (or other way) sence taunt hits directly and does dmg while the shield has some travel time.

Nah, it's not me not wanting to taunt because of DR. I just find it... immoral in some way. A cheaty way. And I'm almost sure he's not taunting cause he himself said he hates it, even blames our feral tank that he's a taunter :D

You could also ask your warrior co-tank to put vigilance on one of the high dps raid members instead of on you. Sure, the taunt refresh is nice, but the 10% threat transfer really bones the co-tank in a situation where you're outgeared by the DPS.

- A demolitions specialist at a flat run outranks everybody.
