T9 4 Bonus or T9/2 + T8/2 ?

Hello.

I just dont really know what to wear.

I have 5 pieces of T8.226, 4 T9.232 and 1 T9.245 (Shoulder). I also have Chestplate of Towering Monstrosity

I do wear the Chest allready, and also the T9.245 Shoulder and the T9.232 Legs for the 2 piece T9 bonus. I do wear the T8.226 Head, and the T8.226 Hands, also for the 2 piece T8 bonus.

I am unsure if i should replace the 2 T8 pieces for the T9.232 pieces (Head and Hands)

Is the "more" i get out of the 2 pieces and the 4 piece T9 bonus the loss of agro (T8 2 piece bonus) and dmg worth ?

And how much agro do i really loose? I tried it for one raid, and my agro didnt feel right. I was ok, vs my dd's after i tanked a while, but it was only an random pdk10 raid.

I really need some help here, i have this dilemma since around one week now, and just dont know what to do.

A 10% damage increase to SoV should translate to only around 2-3% overall threat increase, unless you're really skirting the line on threat (doubtful) than you really shouldn't notice a difference at all when losing the t8 -2pc bonus.

Really the thing you have to face up to is that no matter how pretty the bonus is, as a tank you can never afford to keep inferior gear. The stats overall on the t9, even at 232 lvl makes it a good choice to upgrade. The 4-pc t9 will help your overall survivability and you'll have better avoidance and a better health pool. I would advise upgrading, though whatever you can do to get trophies and get the 245 version is highly advisable

We only get 5 trophys per week ;-/ And they are split among the raid. So you can hope to get once every 5-6 weeks a trophy. (We have more than 25 raider..)

VoA is also a decent place for a shot at 245 legs and gloves

I use 2 piece T8 and 2 piece T9 in my threat set. Really what it comes down to is this, If you are using those pieces to tank progression fights, then you need to upgrade them, however, if you are using them to tank farmed content, continue to take advantage of the set bonuses.

As a blanket statement, I disagree that it is never opportune to use previous tier gear because it is "inferior." While the T8 has less itemization compared to T9, there are benefits that each piece give you, you just have to balance them with your needs based on what encounter and skill level you have. NEVER throw away a piece of gear unless you have a DIRECT upgrade. If you are strictly speaking of progression encounters, please ignore my rant and upgrade your gear forsaking the threat bonus of the 2 piece T8, however keep it for your farmed content.
