I bid on 5 trophies tonight in hopes to get the gloves, lost all 5 bids. Did Korolan, gloves dropped. Was very excited!

dkp bidding is a terrible drama filled system. if you want to progress give gear to the tanks first.

They probably do but according to wowhead, the burrowers are level 82 and the scarabs are level 80. That would lower their parry chance quite a bit I believe.
The twins of course are level 83 bosses.

Wow gratz on your luck, I havent seen nearly the off set pieces you have. We need the neck, the cloak, and the belt to drop.

DKP bidding is right up there with DKP modified /roll systems.

I disagree with this BiS gear guide alot. The 4 set bonus is nothing worth going for imo on its own, only reason to for it (Maby) is because there are not that many alternatives. Shoulders from 10 man HM for example are not even listed.
The guide also have serveral wrong links (Boots form Lord Jaraxxus 25 man (HM) has two sockets), and does not take into account 26 experties cap, and leaves you with almost no hit rateing.
Not that set I wanna be Maintanking anub with, and as such is not BiS.
But nice overview, just disagree with your conclusions.

Is there anything to suggest that the defensive benefits of expertise cap out at 26?

If the boss parry hastes then expertise is still good as a defensive stat up to 56. Otherwise the extra expertise is useful only as a threat stat.

I guess what I'm asking is why would you devalue expertise after 26, when we are measuring a BIS tank guide?

If you are using threat as even a very small value (not 0) then it will affect expertise's value past 26. How much? depends on how you value threat.

On a ttl BIS guide I would value it as 0.

Not sure that's really fair. Coming up with a top-notch TTL set doesn't do you any good if it doesn't have the threat output to keep up with your DPS players. And that should be a concern nowadays in ToC if your DPS is reasonably competent and well-geared.

We're not talking about the value of expertise as it relates to threat. We're talking about the devaluation of expertise as a stat once you have already removed dodges from the table, in a ttl BIS guide. The reason i raised this is because I think theres a common misconception that expertise ceases to be valuable at all after 26. Obviously you would know more about this than me (I use your math to defend my position all the time, after all)
