(DK) unholy parse

can someone help me with figuring out why this unholy dk is only doing 7.5k dps on festergut when my frost dk with lesser gear is doing close to 10k

His DoT uptime is abysmal. As in 60% uptime abysmal. Last time I checked that was a good way to do terrible dps, especially as Unholy.

Edit: I just double checked what fight this was (I was never good at remembering fester and rot) You need to have some words to this guy about his disease management.

He might also try standing behind the boss based on ~16% of his melee strikes and 25% of his Scourge Strikes being parried.

Just for comparison's sake, your disease uptime was ~91% and you got parried like 5 times over the entire fight (and you're dual wielding, sooooo yeahhhhh), which can be explained by the fact the bastard turns around to explode.

i've read that letting diseases run full duration is a slight dps gain so i've been trying to refresh as late as possible.

Not a WMO log. Maybe someone else can, but I dunno how to on that site. 90 seems like a reasonable number if you're purposefully letting your diseases go their full durations.

You didn't do too badly. A couple of times you jumped the gun and a couple of times you let them slip off for too long, but overall it was pretty decent. Have you looked into a GoD build at all? I don't know if your raids have Enhance Shaman in them and it'd result in much higher uptime on the 20% haste buff since in that log yours was only up ~88% of the time.

i don't like using pestilence to refresh. it feels awkward to me
edit: that 20% haste buff is the personal one. the raid buff is always up now

How does it feel awkward exactly? I always found it quite intuitive for Frost and Unholy.
