How so? Even with 100% haste you should be attacking twice as fast as with 0% haste.

It's rather simple to spec into swift retribution, giving you 3% haste, then chugging a potion of speed, 15.25% haste, and seeing if you end up with 18.25% or 1.1525*1.03. Similarly, simply get lust cast on you with and without the potion. I'm not on at the moment but I look forward to your results.

It's also relatively obvious since if these aren't multiplicative you can achieve negative attack speed.

I'm not sure if you fully understand how haste works. :/

I quite understand how haste works. At any rate, additive would be insane.

Based on your comments about negative cast time, you're at least somewhat mistaken about haste. 100% haste does not equal 0 cast time. Rather, it would cut cast time in half. Specifically, the formula is:

Cast time = (Base Cast Time)/(1+Haste%), where Haste% is expressed as a decimal value (e.g. 50% = .5)

There's no way to hit 0 or negative cast times with haste. Put another way, it's the number of casts per second that increases linearly with haste, not the reduction in seconds per cast.

Sounds like when I took Hemorrhaging Circle from a rogue (out rolled him)when I was holy spec. Poor guy, he begged so well.

Not ninjaing if it's known before hand.

Is it known what happens for haste values over 100%, since they aren't attainable?

EDIT: By this I mean to ask how they're dealt with by game mechanics.

Well, in theory there can always be a discontinuity at some point, but there's no reason to believe that the formula is any different at 100% haste, and in fact there's nothing particularly special about the number 100% under the haste formula.

You can think of haste as this: when you have X% haste you will preform X% more attacks in the same time period (this does not take haste effects on GCD into account). So at 100% haste you will perform for 100% more attacks or twice the amount you would do with no haste, at 200% haste you would perform 200% more attacks or 3 times the amount you would do with no haste.
