In general, Maxdps rankings aren't very good.

Max DPS is good for getting a general sense, especially for a new player. It is poor at determining the small differences between pieces. If it's a lvl 80 characters I would think redscacpe's spread sheet would be exactly what you need but it is unlikely to give you definetive answers because what is best for you varies a lot with your gear and with a lot of these items the difference is small.
