[Holy-PvE] is there a healadin site like this one?

Thread title moderated in accordance with sticky guidelines -Baelor

Looking ahead to off-specs, I'm going to start acquiring healing gear. Is there any healadin sites like this, or any suggestions on healadin guides, etc?

besides these

Bananashoulders is more of a blog than anything. A very good one and highly recommended imo, but it isn't a healing site like this.

PlusHeal is what you want.

What I love about these site (apart from everything) was the detailed guide to talents, specs, stats and strategies to tank - and not least the detailed gear upgrade list, that has like 10 items for each slot from rep items, then heroics and finally raid items.

EJ offers soemthing like that for a few classes but not healadins, bananashoulders has listed only the 2 best in slot - so with my mishmash of gear I am kinda lost if they are good, who drops something better etc...

On what I have read around, it is difficult to value Holy ratings like for dps or tanks. Besides you don't have caps.

For the lack of healing strats it's true. I am reading Maintankadin and watching Tankspot and there are plot holes you find in fight.

For example, find out you must not dispel on Gothik. And on Razzuvious the raid is taking damage not only the MC :P :P .

Bananashoulders does have a pre raid list of items that you should be trying to get.

Since I'm a nice guy, I'll link it here.

http://www.bananashoulders.com/2008/12/09/pre-raid-holy-paladin-gear-list-v1/

Once you get most of those items on her pre raid list, you aren't going to find anything from questing so when you see a mail or plate piece drop, just do what we all do and compare it to what you have on. Hehe.

Incoming noob question:

Why would you not want to dispel on Gothik? I am looking at his abilities, they all look like they should be dispelled.

We downed him, but did I make it harder on our raid?

I'm guessing Nemuria means Grobbulus.

A couple of pointers in addition to what's already been recommended:
1. Basic pre-raid gearing can be researched using http://maxdps.com/paladin/holy.php. Once your gear is reasonably decent, stay away from MaxDps. Its relative item rankings are buggy. For example, it rates Embrace of the Spider significantly higher than The Egg of Mortal Essence.
2. Once you obtain raid and heroic gear, use Rawr to evaluate subsequent upgrades. It lets you tune gear for longevity, burst healing, different combinations of buffs, etc. http://elitistjerks.com/f76/t36917-rawr ... in_module/ is the link.
3. Practice practice practice. Run some heroics, they actually teach you various healing styles. Set a goal for no one to die in a boss fight. If someone does, analyze what happened and what you could've done to prevent death.

Last, but not least, talk to other healers in your raid. Chances are, they will help you with assignments and advice.

I was a tankadin throughout BC, now full time healadin in WotLK.

head to a bg and see if you can keep people alive.
I was basically teaching myself to heal in BC by pvping on off times and if you can handle it in pvp, you can handle it in PVE np.
