i wonder if a balance approch with high BV gears is better then full out BV and lose avoidance

Full BV,definitely. You can reliably block 100% of his damage with maxed BV gear, so avoidance is pointless

You likely can't get it much lower. The deathbloom is magical in nature but I suppose a good disc priest could shield you through them.

Don't forget your own sacred shield (on everyone if you have the mana / are the only pally), and one of those shadow absorb pots. It really helps, though I'm still of the notion this is a DPS fight rather than a tank / heal fight.

The issue with sacred shield is that you have to take damage for it to proc and it could never be used for a 0 dps intake scenario. It could however lower the dps intake assuming no other absorption effect was not present (absorptions don't stack with each other).

It looks like Loatheb hit me once when I was running away from a spore

I did get a 14k crit ShoR, so that's nice. Next week I'll have to prioritize Judge (I have 2/2) and HS and wear my full blockset (around 2100 BV unbuffed).
