This fight is usually done with two tanks: one on the live side, one on the dead side. Make sure the dead side has a higher percentage of your better DPS since that side has some of the harder elites.
The possible problems you can encounter are: a) tanks are unable to hold aggro which results in healer/DPS death, b) DPS sucks and the adds are not dying quick enough. To help with the first problem, make sure ranged/healers stack up on each other so it's easier to pick up the elites. If you have hunters or rogues, make sure they use their threat misdirection to help tanks pick up the harder elites. This is a fight whose success lies 90% in the hands of your DPS.
Save Heroism for when the gates upon up towards the end for the final burn to make up for the lost stats from the debuff and you'll get him!

Live side:
Have your group staying at the gate, tank in front, since they spawn from the 3 point opposite the gate is fairly easy to pick 'em up.
1/2 and you can simply use HotR or the frisbee to get them both when they're closer, if are 3 I go frisbee on the knight and consecrate for the lessers.
Undead side:
If you have 2 tanks available you can stay at the gate and they'll split accordingly;
If your tank is an insane war that likes to charge, intervene and bounce like a pinball, have your party standing wherever, he'll deal with it;
If your tank is a slacky paladin (bear/dk/cantbeasked) have the party standing in one of two corners on the left of the gate, tank up front catching anything comes.
If you lag set up some extra OT cause it's bloody impossible.
