Im trying to get blacksmithing to 375. Im almost there, Im hoping to get about 500g before I buy wrath on the weekend.
I plan on farming while I level. I play at odd hours, and my pally is a miner and priest alt a herb picker, so im hoping Ill be the one SELLING rediculously overpriced stuff rather than buying it =P
Are you trying to get to 375 to make something? If not, stop. You can start with cheap recipes and cheap mats in Northrend at 350.

Rogue has about 300g. Warrior has around 80g. My pally has about 29k right now. Spent about 400 badges on gems, cut them and sold the precise gems for about 225-400g. People on Malygos don't exactly use their brain very much.
No.. people dont.. I still run instances to improve the gear on my druid, but its pretty pointless.. Its even more pointless to buy epic gems at this point.
The only thing that serves any purpose right now is to buy mats to skill up <insert random profession> to 350 if youre switching.
On a sidenote, I got the healing mace from Zul'jin on my druid on sunday.
I thought that I might get to keep it for a while, but no.. There is a caster dagger in Utgarde that is far superior. /cry
Anyway. Gold is nice to have but I have maybe 1K on all my alts combined. Another 1,5K in my guildbank that I share with my brother and some friends. Nice to have for emergencies.

Had about 35kg. Spent 5k on the mats for LW 1-375, enchanting mats for 2-3 full sets of gear, and mats for about 100 hours of relentless assault flasks.
Will probably spend 10kg on all the ore I need for BS 375-450, JC 375-450, BoE crafted items, and enough gems/sockets to outfit a 10-man raid.

I have 1700G right now. On the first day I will spend about 300G on all grandmaster training for my professions (enchanting, mining, cooking, first aid, fishing).
I expect to make a lot of money from selling materials from mining and disenchanting. I will wait with leveling my professions until the prices for materials go down (that will take at least a month). Buying all the skills & recipes will cost at least 600G.
Alternatively, do you expect that it will be possible to make (lots of) money from enchanting in the first weeks? Was the demand for new enchants high after the release of TBC?
