Warrior T7 vs Paladin T7... sigh...
I haven't done any math yet, but it seems like the stacking of block rating on pally T7 will make it much worse than warrior T7 which has actual avoidance stats.
Can someone that understands the mechanics tell me if this is true?
The only way I can think this will benefit the paladin tank is that if a warrior MUST take some FULL DAMAGE normal hits, while the paladin can block every single attack or avoid them.
If warriors can get to the point where they never take a normal hit (they either avoid all attacks or block them), then it would seem like the pally tank would be much worse off (as warriors have bigger block values anyway).

This is the case. As long as they don't continue itemizing the gear with block rating after the point that it comes useful, we believe that's the idea. They've already acknowledged that our blocking mechanics start sucking as gear improves, but since the gear doesn't yet exist they haven't addressed it. GC has said they will, though.
I rule.

FIXT.
Get Block capped. 2nd gear goal after uncrit. Block rating on T-7 gear is actually good - it's had to hit 102.4%, and that's the most efficient way.

Unpossible.

Power Ranger vs Juggernaut.

Hopefully T-8 looks like, YANNOW, tanking gear? Or at least something other than 1990's anime heroine.

there is another tier set out there (prolly T8). people thought it was T7 a while ago, but it is most likely T8. The paladin gear looks ok in T8... but the rest look awesome (only the mage prolly got screwed over more lol).

Back on the topic, I remember seeing comparisons of these two early on and thinking how horrendous it was to lose so much avoidance for block. But now that diminishing returns were introduced, and stats like dodge start to taper off dramatically around 25-30%, what's the real difference in avoidance between these two sets? Aren't we going to be pretty much at that taper point even if our T7 sacrifices some dodge for block? Some of the extra avoidance on the warrior set may be going to waste.

In order to reach 102.4 in currently available gear, you rely on either a perfect alignment of buffs, or to specifically gear (ie: gem) towards it.
Basically the block rating on t7 would be a problem at a higher gear level, but is actually fabulous at around, ooh, t7
