Frankly I would be fine with a 5 second Divine Shield. 5 seconds is enough time to pop two Holy Lights, run, or try to finish off whoever it is that is beating your face in.
The loss just has to be made up elsewhere. I would gladly have a 5 second divine shield and a slightly less awesome hammer of justice if they can give us some of the other things that would balance our toolset (distance closer/slow/interrupt/ms/what have you.)
Speaking of Ret though, I haven't heard any news on crusader strike doing anything. Guess it still must be just an instant auto-attack.
