Where do we get our mana from now that INT is removed?

So I noticed the gear had INT removed so it matches w/ warrior gear, where do we inc our mana pool now?

Int never had much to do with how we got our mana anyway.

Our total mana pool has always been largely irrelevant in almost all cases except over-gearing 5-mans.

We generate mana like warriors generate rage, so it's all about incoming damage producing mana through spiritual attunement.

In addition, there are also judgement of wisdom procs, Blessing of Sanctuary which largely solves overgearing/mana issues in 5-mans, and Divine Plea.

So, to sum it all up, you won't see additional int/mana on gear, only from raid buffs. We will be operating strictly off of base mana.

It's all about producing mana, not starting with extra.

Edit: To further follow this train of thought, mana potions give us MUCH more in resources than a rage potion does.

In live, having a pocket shadow-priest almost assured us unrivaled resource generation, something no other tank could claim on overgeared content. This advantage is lessening with the substitution of replenishment in WotLK.

Now Now guys....Int had one very important asset to it.

The ability to do more stuff before we have to have a replenishment source kick in. The changes to SoC "help" with this.

But the main problem I've noticed now is without a reasonable crowd or heals, dealing with 1 single target solo is still painful if the fight lasts too long.

Shh, don't complain about soloing elites, we're ridiculously good at that as it is.

My concern is not how we get our mana back. That is a pretty stupid question to be asking as a pally..

I'm just curious cuz our tanking gear usually has a bit of INT, so the avg prot pally now runs around with 5000 mana.

So when we lose all those INT, maybe we will be down to like 3000-4000.

Just curious cuz I don't see any talent/skills that boosts our mana. I'm sure it will affect us when we are soloing mobs 1v1.

If we're soloing mobs, just use Blessing of Sanctuary. It provides rather a lot of mana regen if under attack by more than 1 mob.

Trust me you're much, much better off with those 4k mana instead. High damage situations don't feel the hit, and sanctuary is op for mana.
