Three tanking weapons from one quest!

Postby Laeral » Thu Oct 09, 2008 6:59 am

I just picked up Wanted: Ragemane's Flipper in Zul'Drak, and I see that it has three quest rewards that are potential tanking weapons!

Sword of Heartwrenching Slaughter
Crescent of Brooding Fury
Hammer of Quiet Mourning

I'm thinking the hammer would be the best choice of the three, with defense and dodge, but the sword's dodge and parry sounds nice too. What does everyone think?

Go with the hammer. By the time you picked up the quest, you're very much critable. Besides, as a human, your only choice is the sword or hammer.

I'm guessing the quest is around the level 74 area, since the wowhead item descriptions have %s at level 74. I'd personally take the mace, highest dps for HoTR, highest str of the three. Defensive stats dont hugely matter at that level of tanking since you can tank instances as ret, but that will help you solo as prot if you choose to level that way

I'm really tempted to take the axe. Because it is an axe.

Besides, how can my battle cry be "IT'S HAMMER TIME!!!" when I'm carrying a sword.

I thought only humans had a racial that improved mace use...

I'm going for the staff.....j/k

I'm still wondering how there managed to be 3 blues and 1 green in that quest reward lineup.

For the record, I took the Hammer

I'd definately take the mace. Even though it looks kinda stupid.
