Leveling Professions.

Postby Joacimcans » Wed Oct 08, 2008 9:56 pm

I have two questions about leveling professions. The first one is are there any guides out for leveling from 375-450?

and the second is concerning leveling professions from 1-375. I was noticing some on wow head that if i sorted enchants by level it was listing some WotlK enchants sub 375 using mats from the xpac. So does this mean if i am leveling 2 new professions pre xpac that i dont have to max it to 375 to make use of the new recipes? I only ask because i know i leveled both engineering and BSing to 375 and at the time you couldnt make anything with mats from outlands until you were at skill level 300.

Not really - wowhead is the best around ATM.

Stop at 350 and skip to cheap Northrend recipes, which start at 350 for most (all?) professions.

That's a nice change I'm looking forward to in wotlk. Getting the last 25 points to 300 BS is a real pain. If only I could use fel iron recipes for those levels >.<

Sorry but I haven't played for several months. What is eternal water?

Since you only need to level it to 350, cutting common quality gems (e.g. deep peridot) and a few rare quality gems (e.g. talasite) is all that you need. The cheaper rare gems shouldn't cost mush now since everyone are selling all thing asap before the expansion.

Sorry, elemental water, the pre-bc stuff off the water elementals in feralas and such, guides I find either need a retarded amount of that, or of the pre-bc gems such as citrine which my AH is full out of.

oic.

Leveling from 200 to 300 JC is tricky. usually no one mine those middle level ores regularly, so the supply and price fluctuate a lot from time to time. When I was leveling JC, I mined most of the mithril and thorium myself.

I spent about 800g levelling through that bit, buying ore off the AH and prospecting. Thorium was around 40g a stack, and my mining character was just starting mithril at the time. In the end I had to use ~10 Azerothian Diamonds to get through a slow spot, which I'd have preferred not to (those are ~20g on their own, ~2g as Diamond Rings...). Once you hit 300 and move onto gems, it's easier.... until about 325, when the recipe supply begins to dry up.
I'm now at 370, and I'll probably get impatient and buy my way through those last points soon just so I can finally make my Tortoise. Waiting for WotLK is probably the sensible idea, past 350.
I don't play WoW any more.

Making brilliant glass is another nice way to level up, though it is quite slow.

Anyone have any good BS guides/tips? Every guide that I've seen calls for a heart attack inducing amount of thorium so if anyone knows an easier way it'd be great.

Thorium is pretty much it. There are various guides but all i've seen include a big chunk of thorium at some point.

I'm going to level with mining and JC. JC is up there among the best tanking professions, depending on when the epic gems become available will determine just how valuable it is. Mining will be "good enough", with the passive 500 hp, and after hitting 80 and farming an excess of ore I may drop it for blacksmithing or enchanting.
Anyway, lets just agree to disagree. Go away, or I'll just start reporting you to the mods for being a troll. In exchange, I'll stop pointing out your stupid in public.

As far as I know, (unless you're super lucky) Thorium is the only way to get those levels of BS.
It's a pain yes, but I found that if you ride from one "end" of EPL to the other, following the pattern of rich nodes you can find on wowhead, you can grab a fairly decent amount of it.
The only bad thing really is that truesilver nodes can spawn instead of rich thorium.
