hardly a win for the hardcore pvp-ers

I'm sure the honor you get at 80 will rise to match prices.
This is a great change because it gives people something to farm before the expansion and doesn't delete past progress.
I just hope they don't repeat past mistakes and pvp gear isn't best in game for feral tanks that are new to 80. Given the itemization of their tier set I can see how pvp gear might fit that bill again.

There was no benefit to resetting it. You could start right now and be honor capped quite easily before WotLK is live, so there's no advantage for folks who have been hoarding honor. On the other hand, as the raid game dies down in these last few weeks, there's significant reason to keep people interested in battlegrounds. There's so many other options they could implement if they are concerned about newly minted 80s running around in epics, that honestly, resetting honor was kind of bone headed.

Not sure if marks are required. But I'd save my marks for 80 unless you need the honor to buy something now
You'll get more honor for the turn-ins once you hit 80
