Build 8770 Notes

Holy

* Illumination (Tier 3) changed to: After getting a critical effect from your Flash of Light, Holy Light, or Holy Shock heal spell you have a 20/40/60/80/100% chance to gain mana equal to 60% of the base cost of the spell.
* Holy Guidance (Tier 8 ) increases spell power by 7/14/21/28/35% of your intellect. (Previously increased spell damage and healing)


Protection

* Divine Guardian (Tier 4) now only affects Divine Shield. (Previously affected Divine Protection as well)
* Sacred Duty (Tier 6) now affects Divine Protection as well as Divine Shield. (Previously only affected Divine Shield)
* Hammer of the Righteous (Tier 11) now causes current weapon damage as holy damage. (Previously caused 100% of weapon damage)


Retribution

* Crusader Strike (Tier 9) does not refresh judgements anymore.


Nice changes for Divine Guardian and Sacred Duty.

What exactly does the Hammer of the Righteous change mean? And if Crusader Strike doesn't refresh Judgements anymore, I wonder if they're going to give it some other utility.

I confess being a bit underwhelmed by that one. Stats are wonderful, but considering that it is a lvl 80 epic, I have to admit that I would have expected more (then again, my assumption is pretty much that the current 41dps on caster weapons will be about 82dps in WotLK...).

Presumably it now means that HotR will hit for what your white damage does, rather than from your character sheet - ie it takes armour into consideration.

Or, as per Here, it changes nothing.

(I don't understand what changed about illumination)

Honestly that weapon kinda blows imo....

If that is a 'caster/hybrid' weapon, will be interesting to see wether we get more threat from 88dps and 80spell power, or a big fat slow 150ish dps 1 hander (I assume with 100+ epics at 70 150dps isnt insane to theory craft)

Couple Ret changes I've noticed:

Seal of Blood (and Martyr, presumably) self damage seems to have been fixed to actually scale based on the amount of damage dealt. My 4k judgement crits do 1300 damage to myself. Had to switch to SoComm for soloing =(

Judgements of the Wise is working properly now, and I can basically never run out of mana. Mmm.

Also, you can now see your current threat in the mouseover tooltip on mobs.

I think it did move up one tier but the thing I noticed is that Holy Shock is included. Was it like that before?

I hope Crusader Strike gets some other utility.

Crusader Strike definitely doesn't need more utility. Ret Pallies do ridiculous damage atm.

Yep Holy Shock in included right now on live ... the text reads exactly the same in this build and on live ... just moved up a tier.

I'm thinking more on the PVP utility front.

Divine Protection is still broken, apparently with or without the talent.

Apart from the large damage range, I expect http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/ima ... rusher.jpg to be better for us, if only because the large AP basically pushes it up to current 1hers in T6+.

Ah. Yeah. I've been following most of the changes daily. I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing, or it was a cumulative update for people not paying as much attention.
