Movie: 64 DK tanking Terokkarantula

I'm in the beta, checking out to see how DK's can tank. Frapsed this while I was 64.

64 Frost tanking spec solo vs. Terokkarantula

I think I was just shy of 30% avoidance, 52% or so damage mitigation.

The sun icon popping up is a +30% armor +15% strength Unbreakable Armor proc.

Gear was all newbie, HFP, and Zangarmarsh quest gear.

So far, DK's still seem squishy. High threat, high mitigation, low avoidance. Better than druids and wars for AOE tanking, but much worse than paladins.

As i said in some other places, atm DK got low avoidance, same armor as paladin/warriors, but no additional reduction on top of it, so they take more damage than both.

They quite fail for physical tanking.

I want to see them tanking dungeons. Stat.

Just as a means of comparision, I soloed that mob before I hit 70. I can't remember my exact level, maybe 66.

I know that my post probably sounded like bragging but soloing elites was one of my favorite things to do on my Paladin going all the way back to Ol' Sooty in Loch Modan.

I got a feeling that might happen when it goes live. All the people who don't want to play DK's will be leveling up to 80... all the people who do will be leveling their DKs. Most of the outlands people will be DKs..... unless I can find a crafty way to level faster in outland!

Deathknights get a 1min CD 50% damage reduction for 12s ability, and a 40% damage reduction for next 4 attacks 30s CD ability.

Combined that's quite a lot of "burst" mitigation!
