Divine protection
Divine Protection now reduces all damage taken by 50% and increases time between attacks by 100%.
If we get sacred duty to work on it I see a shieldwall in the making

You don't drop aggro with divine protection as it only gives you 50% damage resistance, not Immunity like Divine Shield.
Clarification: Divine Protection is the bubble you got as a lvl 6 paladin and then forgot about when you got Divine Shield.

Shiny.
I was thinking that this was a SERIOUS nerf to Divine Protection and it still sort of is to low-level Pally's whom do not have access to Divine Shield.
But this is a god-send to the Protection Paladin whom normally can never pop a bubble when tanking for more than 1/2 second as a debuff cleaner because of the aggro whipe.
I was wondering how the talent Divine Guardian made it into the Protection tree when a Protection Paladin NEVER pops his bubble when tanking but now I know.
Divine Protection with Divine Guardian = -30% damage on the party members redirected at the tank (whom is most likely able to handle the extra damage with a dedicated healer) whom is than cutting that damage in half before applying it WHILE still retaining aggro.
I like it as a new mechanism to help out the healer and party in an AoE environment.
I still see the viability of a Holy Paladin healer whom specs into Kings also going deep enough to get Divine Guardian in order to pop Divine Shield and redirect 30% of party damage onto his shield as a "healing" mechanism.
Anyway, an interesting change to Divine Protection. Will actually make is useful after you get Divine Shield.
Cheers,

100% increased time between attacks is not all that bad, considering we'll still be able to judge/consecrate/shield slam/hotr/holy shield during those 12 sec., only our mighty auto-attack melee hits won't be coming as fast.

If you spec into Divine Guardian, is 30% of the dmg taken by party members redirected to you mitigated by the 50% dmg reduction effect, or is it simply 50% of inc. dmg on you who gets mitigated and the 30% redirected fully hits you? Also, do we mitigate part of the incoming dmg from armor if it is physical?

Well although it hasn't made it into a beta build yet, if you look at the official beta talent calculator, Divine Guardian is only affecting Divine Shield. So when we're tanking we can get our 50% reduction with DP, and if we're off tanking we can go immune and reduce the damage everyone takes by 30%. I'm okay with not having an 80% damage reduction at the moment with all our other fun tricks we have.
