Pally Shield Wall?
Not sure if anybody posted the topic already. Can somebody in Beta verify this?
Q u o t e:
Now that is an intresting change - and a functionality I've wanted for DS for a long time.
I wonder if it might turn out too strong for tanking though, assuming you don't lose agro with the "new" DP.
Just tested, and no, it doesn't drop aggro.
Ladies and gentlemen, shield wall.

Hi my name is Amran and I'll take that US beta key off your hands and do dirty things to you under a table.

Finally, an on-use damage reduction ability that doesn't cause our group to die horrible untimely deaths.

# Divine Guardian: This talent now affects Divine Shield and Divine Protection (While Divine Shield or Divine Protection is active 15/30% of all damage taken by party or raid members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin.).
So, basically we have been given a strange, shiny raid-wide half shieldwall!
great, more points to put in the protection tree...
HUZZAH! How many points do I receive?

No, I think you're crossing 2 mechanics into one.
Right now, Divine Protection is on a different recast that Divine Shield.
It is allowing 50% damage instead of rendering you immune, but it is not dropping aggro.
You do not have to spec into Divine Guardian for this to occur.

yes, I AM crossing 2 mechanics into one...
if you spec the new divine guardian, you will pop the 30% raidwide damage reduction and your 50% damage reduction...
And now that I think about it for more than 3 secs(that I didnt before)...this is quite bad for a MT...I don't want to take 50% of a raids 30% entire damage when tanking a possibly lethal hitting boss!!! [edit]: Well, not automatically atleast...
whew, nice, saves me 2 points again

I believe it's Divine Protection:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=498
Which i don't think is affected by Sacred Duty's attack speed reduction.

Hand of Protection and Divine Shield are both still immunity effects. There is no reason to assume they both don't drop aggro still. Only Divine Protection is being changed.Equitas wrote:its still based on range isnt it?

Due to the change to Divine Guardian, we may see Sacred Duty also affect Divine Protection at some point. May be something to bring up with the Blue at the Beta forum.
