T6 geared likely means at least 1300 Stamina...that's like 390 spell damage on top of whatever spell damage your gear provides(you're probably around 400-500 if you're doing T6 content).

Run BT/SPLAT and your DPS should be able to go all out because you will be pumping out insane TPS.

In fact you'll have the T6 spelldamage on top of the stuff you get from Stamina.

Going into WotLK, you'll be a threat god.

I did Nexus and Utgar Keep. I'm a threat god. Not kidding.

same, 1046 spell damage unbuffed in t6 threat gear, and i could get more if needed. tanked utgarde keep and nexus without any problem, and dpsers went crazy from the start with full t6/sunwell gear.

I am guessing, that despite the steep cost, this, with a new "blue" gem in it will likely be a good compromise on threat and stamina

Boo @ crit >.<
Not that it won't make like everything crit..BUT STILL!

I'm a bit worried about how scalings will work for tank gear, actually.
Because we're getting new scaling of stam->sd, and... nothing with SD for single target? >.>
(aoe remains unchanged)

Nothing with SD for Single Target? Seal? Judgement? Holy Shield (ok, also Multi-Opponents)? Exorzism?

True. But how about what we have that's new?
Hammer comes from ap, but apparently it's ignoring str-based AP !
Shield is bv, nothing bad here...except that shield spec as of now didn't boost str-based BV.

I just don't know what they're going to do with those, and until our new stuff actually uses what they'll give us, I can't be optimistic.

Brutalizer's 1.6 speed and low damage range means it won't benefit Hammer of the Righteous very much at all, despite its high DPS. The only benefit to wielding a fast weapon will be the faster stacking of SoV, but once you have a full stack up then you're essentially gimping your TPS by using a fast physical weapon.

I'm personally going to use http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34616 for tanking once the expansion hits, until I find something to replace it in Northrend.

For raids, I'll probably carry a fast weapon around for stacking SoV initially, then switch to a slow physical mainhand for the rest of the fight.

Not sayin its ideal. Just happy I have a non-spell damage option.

Ignore the crit and see it as a "fast enough" weapon to keep procs of wisdom going, keep a stack of SoC/SoV going, give you decent attack power from the weapon as well as a stamina boost (and resulting spell dmg).

I've been using a Mallet of the Tides on the Beta. Works pretty well, although I really should replace the Deathfrost I put on it mainly for looks with something useful.

These were a few of the weapons that seemed likely candidates to grab before the expansion.

Threat Oriented

Breeching Comet from Kael in heroic MgT

Netherbane from Al'ar

Defense Oriented

Mallet of the Tides from The Lurker Below

Cleaver of the Unforgiving from Zul'Jin

The Unbreakable Will from Anetheron

Most anyone can pick up the Breeching Comet. If you have 10-man access you can get the Cleaver of the Unforgiving. Then the other ones just depend on your raid access.
