Not being one that's up one too many Melee DPS mechanics I have to ask a question.

Last night I picked up Heartless on an extended bear run.
I already had a Breaching Comet (?) from HMgT.
(sorry, can't provide a links from work)

I'm just trying to figure out which would be better to use with this skill?

They are both very close/equal in DPS, damage range and speed.

The Comet has a Gem slot and some agility.
Heartless has more stamina and haste rating.

How is this ability effected by haste rating?

Ultimately, which is the better weapon considering I'm a human and get the expertise bonus from the sword?
