I just tanked Utgarde Keep :)

Postby d503 » Thu Jul 24, 2008 1:45 am

Went into UK with a Holy Paladin, Enh Shaman, Fury Warrior using Titan's Grip (so badass looking).

Here are some observations:
- I played around with skill rotations, and dropped mostly Judgement from my rotation except for on the initial pull to get the buff up. I used a rotation of Consecrate > Holy Shield > HotR (not a great order, but this is still weird and new!).
- I was OOM alot :( alot...I had to pop pots many times in order to keep up on the longer (boss) fights.
- I tanked most of the instance with a quest green 86dps 1h (http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=36879)
- Didn't have too many threat problems, tho I didn't really keep a consistent ability rotation, and judgements are kinda broken.
- The last boss is fun, and has a fun "ability" :P

Here's a combatlog from the night. WoWWebStats won't let me upload, but maybe you can do something with it /shrug

Ask me any questions here :)

Why you drop judgement from rotation if they dont consume seals anymore or was that what you meant with judgements being abit broken atm?

Were you oom due to not taking much damage or because the skills just use a huge amount of mana?

Using JoW + Judging would be a good idea if you got oom

I would assume he did from this:

dropped mostly Judgement from my rotation except for on the initial pull to get the buff up

You can look at the increasing cost of spells and the problems we have with mana in 5-Mans in TBC, and see this was going to be a problem.

In my Understanding using JoW + SoW and judging for some threat would have been better.

did you test divine guardian, the talent that redirects 30% of the damage to the paladin, does it damage the paladin in the bubble or is he immun and nullifies 30% of the damage to the raid?

And in my understanding, using JoW while you have SoW active will not cause any damage.

Are you sure? I read that very differently over at EJ, unless I missed a post somewhere (which is entirely possible)

If you have SoW or SoL or SoJ up and you judge you do 80% of the damage you would normally do when judging SoR.
