Leveling in outland by AOE grinding with Corpse explosion + Death and Decay. This method shows just how powerful the vendetta and butchery talents are. Pay close attention to the health bar, and my runic power bar as I AOE grind. I can typically end up with more of each than I started with.

Vendetta - Heals you for 3% of your maximum health whenever you kill a target that yields experience or honor.

Butchery - Whenever you kill an enemy that grants experience or honor, you generate 10 runic power. In addition, you generate 1 runic power per 3 sec.

Death and decay - Corrupts the ground targeted by the death knight, causing 241 Shadow damage modified by attack power every sec that targets remain in the area. Targets are also diseased for 6 sec and have a chance to cower in fear for 2 sec. The ground remains corrupted for 10 sec

Corpse explosion - Cause a corpse to explode for 60 Nature damage modified by attack power to all enemies within 20 yards. Will use a nearby corpse if the target is not a corpse. Does not affect mechanical or elemental corpses.
Instant, Requires Runic Power, 20 yd range




Fighting a bunch of mobs solo is different than holding agro on a bunch of mobs. What you see here is only happening because of the little oozez bubbles that die in one hit. Speculative post is speculative.

I have zero problem with another tank being as (or nearly as) effective as we are at AoE tanking, in fact I'll be a little disappointed if it doesn't happen. I enjoy all aspsects of tanking, but that AoE niche thing has been worn out.

And if we "lose" that niche, it means we'll be getting a new one, like main tanking bosses which I imagine most paladins would like to be able to do more of.
