Stomp lasts 10 seconds. You were still stomped.
So let's "assume" that I was a full health before that exchange, ~23500.
After the four hits and the small heals in between I still would have been down -8239 HP.
So even if that 5409 heal hit before the swings I would have died.
So it's a no win situation?

Brutallus works like this: If on stomp you get 4 hits in a row you die. No matter how many HP you got, or if you are a war/druid/pala.
Stomp+MH+OH+MH is called roflstomp for a reason.

So they actually brought me back again last night, I wasn't expecting them too.
I again didn't go well but at least half of the wipes didn't have anything to do with me.
Some were my deaths, some were the other tank's deaths, some were burn issues, some were DPS dying early.
I did die a couple of times after a stomp though.
One time it was right as the other tank taunted off me so they BRez'd me but my timing was off on the subsequent taunt and did it too late. I aslo had 1 taunt resist that lead to a wipe.
I changed up somethings though:
I went with the Commendation over Pocketwatch.
Switched my Seed and SMI Cooldowns.
So it looked like this:
Seed -> SMI -> Nothing -> Seed -> SMI
The first bunch of attempts I had no issues with the 3rd stomp the healers covered it well but I did die on the last attempt at the 3rd Stomp.
I might go back to the Pocketwatch, I just have to be careful not to pop it too early. I also popped my Seeds and SMI a couple seconds earlier and that seemed to help out some.
I'll try to get the next set of WWS up as soon as I can.

The watch lasts 10 seconds, stomp lasts 10 seconds. You want to pop it as soon as he stomps you.

With Pocketwatch + Commendation what would my rotation be?
Seed > Pocketwatch > Nothing > Seed > Pocketwatch?
Wouldn't dropping the SMI drop my avoidance too much?

So we finished up BT last night and since we only had about 45min left in the raid the Leader ask me if I'd mind sitting for Brut.
That brought us down to only 2 Paladins in the raid.
(Our Ret Paladin/Recruitment Officer Transfered Out of nowhere this weekend)
We again had some inconsistency with healers.
Our normal 2 Paladins were there but one of our Priest wasn't and we brought in a druid who had an odd spec to fill in.
I reminded everyone that more than half of the attempts failing this week have absolutely nothing to do with me and then went to grab something to eat.
OF COURSE they one shot the bastard with the druid.
Fortunately, the Legs and the Neck didn't drop so it wasn't a huge loss.
Unfortunately, the one shot could not have helped my public image versus using the druid for Brut and I'm sure I'll have a fight on my hands with some to get in for the kill next week.

Your avoidance out of stomps isn't nearly as important as during them. Pocketwatch definitely beats SMI because of that.
IIRC with proper timing (taunts wait until stomp if it comes between 3rd and 4th slashes) you should only be tanking 4 stomps. I'll double check when I get home.
