On a related note, I never realized how spoiled I was to play on a vanilla-release active server until I started a new character on a low pop realm. Maybe WoW is really dying, after all.

It has to be dying... even these forums are pretty quiet nowadays.

Well, we're also in a hiatus right now. Most of us that are playing have probably plateau'd on their objectives, and may actually be taking a couple of months off until beta starts. I remember late WotLK when Dalaran already felt like a desert.
Another factor is that it may simply MT that's outliving its usefulness. With Theck and Rhidach becoming household names for tankadins, and their insights being basically yanked by every wannabee "Paladin High Teacher" on the internet, plus the simplicity in gearing choices nowadays, the number of tankadins looking for a class-specific forum to discuss has slimmed quite a bit.
Now this is mostly conjecture and it could indeed be explained by dropping subs, but I wouldn't just jump the gun already.

Re: Post your Frustrations.
This week is supposed to be my mother's 2nd to last chemo treatment. Even with heavily reduced dosages, this is wreaking havoc on her body. She went for the treatment yesterday, and no go. Potassium is too low (she now has these amazing horse pills), calcium is too low, white blood cells are too low...
She was telling us yesterday that she's not hungry a lot anymore, so she feels like she has to forcefeed herself. However, when the timing is right, she eats a lot (Friday night saw her eating 1 2/3 lobster, clams, shrimp, noodles...my roommate and I went out to dinner, and I boxed most of mine to bring home to her).
So frustrating, to be so close and to be told, "nope, gotta wait."

I can understand your feeling, my mother has been through similar situations with chemio. To feel a bit well just try to think this suffering is saving her from a much worse fate.

To be fair, there are a lot of us that don't play mtankadins anymore, so much of the content here is irrelevant.
Folks also have found other communities, in my case my current raid team groupme. And Twitter.
Also, to be frank, the lawmchair contingent here has somewhat soured meaningful game discussion of the current game.

And the worst part is, I've come to realize that the curve achiev is going to be the determining factor to get into any kind of PuG come WoD... those without it will be banned to the Looking For Retards... :(
Or you could make a group of your own with reasonable requirements, that's what I usually end up doing on my lesser geard alts.
Anyway, this is nothing new. Remember Gearscore back in WotLK?

Might be trolls, but I'm used to see similar requirements. I often see 550+ required for Flex 4 (sometimes 560) and always at least 560 for normal.
Considering normal drops 553, I'm not sure why I need higher ilvl than the drops in the istance to join it.

My grandma and uncle are in Donetsk. :(
So that we can boost whoever's doing the recruiting *and* let them get all the drops.

Sadly no, these were some of the most noticeable in a 10 minutes window of /2 filled with LFM, LGF, vendoring, etc...
These just stood out due to the lack of logic behind them.
Edit: Have gotten Curve earlier this week, with a good PuG (no windowlickers) that had an avg ilvl of 545-553 (one very skilled healer had 539 and was doing just fine). One near-wipe (FD + mass ress FTW), and one failure on Siege Engineer later 4 ppl got their first Garrosh normal kill. With skill and some dedication everything can be done, even in an almost pure PuG with below par requirements... Now if only the masses would come to realize that

Re: Post your Frustrations.
valura, it's not about "cannot be done" with lower ilvl (remember Flex is tuned for people in 520-530 gear and SoO normal is tuned for 540ish).
It's about people who pug not really wantin to put effort and progress, rather wanting a free and clean loot run. People who want to progress usually do that with guilds or with organized pugs, or even in alt runs, and have no interest in grouping with randoms for it.
By going with people 20-30 ilvls ahead of the minimum requirement you eliminate a lot of the randomness due to lack of skill of the members.

Fucking Santa Claus on a pogo stick.
Dealing with a claim that I rarely deal with, I check with one of our liability representatives on how to handle it. Looking in the policy guide yields the lovely gem of, "welp, you can handle it this way OR you can handle it that way."
Gee, thanks. So I get to pick and choose?
6 more weeks of this type of stupidity...

Re: Post your Frustrations.
Trying to get some paperwork approved for intermittent absences under FMLA.
The case manager decided to call me this morning to let me know the paperwork, while received, is incomplete.
I appreciate the information, but I probably would have appreciated it a lot more had she not called me at 445 in the fucking morning.
(As it was an 800 number, I ignored the call, struggled to get back to sleep, and listened to the message after my shower.)
Which leads me to the next frustration - day 3 in a row of waking up at some stupid hour and struggling to go back to sleep.
