The biggest problem with Chrome is that it's a terrible memory hog. On my current MacPro (7 years old) running Chrome with 4+ tabs (or really even one) and WoW will basically freeze the system, while Firefox is slow but it works. Basicially it's the way Chrome creates separate rendering sessions for each tab, those quickly bring an older system to it's knees... (Part of the blame also lies with Adobe Flash/Shockwave that's built into Chrome and Safari. certain sites with lots of ads chew tons of memory).

hmm that might explain some of the lag issues i have had recently (as in teh last several months)

might need to reinstall FF and see if that helps

Depending on the terms of the probation any minor offense could get him in jail for 20+ years, so not really a slap on the wrist.

Normally, anyone else killing 4 people would land 'em 20 years in jail, not probation...

If I could decide, any person murdering 4 people (but even just one) would get all his arms and legs cut and be left alone in the middle of a forest.

Shame I can't really decide about this.

Pretty sure it's manslaughter, not murder, as I'd bet it wasn't premeditated. Sure, that's a minor quibble that doesn't do anything to help the families of the victims, but in regards to the court ruling, makes a considerable difference.

The crime was the drunk driving, not the accident it caused. You'd look at how impaired his judgement was and whether he knowingly endangered people by getting in the car drunk.

There is definitely a whole lotta bullshit in the defense they used, but it's still more like reckless endangerment or homicidal negligence than murder.

Manslaughter is a much lower sentence than murder, some adults have got less than 3 years for it. Add in mitigating circumstances and his age and it isn't that surprising that he got committed to a psychological ward instead of prison.

See here: criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/involuntary-manslaughter-penalties-and-sentencing.html

Ugh... I hate my internet sometimes... waited 30 minutes for an LFR... middle of the Immerseus fight it starts lagging and kicking me off... I log back in fine the first time, then my internet just completely crashes... I reset the modem, nothing happens... eventually get it working and by the time I log back in, I'm already booted from the raid... now to wait in queue again... /sigh

Feels like a bit of a petty frustration, but still. The character model poses on armoury... Some of them are so bad! My human female paladin hides away behind her giant shield, and my warlock twists away so you can't see her shoulders, and who knows why the weapon isn't even included. Pet peeve!

I feel your pain. Same happened to me once, ended up with deserter debuff for good measure. What gives you a deserter debuff seems really random. I've had to go in the middle of raids and not gotten anything, as well as left when I'm the only one left in a group and I got bored of waiting, and then get the debuff for... Well, deserting myself I suppose.

You don't get Deserter if you are present for a boss kill.

It's a bit inconsistent. Occasionally I've left a LFR right after a ninjapull and I didn't get deserter (a handful times didn't even get the queue cooldown!)
Don't really know honestly.

Maybe it goes by whether the group gets a kill or the Determination buff.

So, I apparently missed out on the whole "jesus is white" fox news debacle this week, only just hearing of it today. Off handedly, I posted on FB that if you just apply some logic to it, it's pretty obvious, that if there were an earthly avatar of a supreme divine being born into that region, he would most assuredly not been a white person.

And then, thanks tot he comments the post received, I realized why it became such a topic.

Because there are some religious people who just defy logic. They can't understand it. They are fascinated by the mysticism of it, and it blinds them to the logic of it all.

that particular depiction of jesus comes from all the years of paintings where they made jesus a caucasian.

Then again, she's probably talking about Republican Jeesuz, not Jesus
