Here's my issue with AAA narrative games. The narrative more often than not pulls you out of playing the game to put you in either cut scenes or QTEs. Mass Effect is pretty much exposition>combat>exposition>combat>exposition>combat for 100+ hours. Tomb Raider is similar with cut scenes in-between shooting or platforming sections. I don't know how to solve that issue besides just a general want of having narrative happen while I play the game. FC3 comes close in that the cu scenes are relatively short and then they send you off to basically play the story missions in pretty much the same manner as you play the rest of the game.

Also lessening the documents/voice recordings as methods of in-game world building would help me a lot too.

I also get that QTEs allow you to have "boss" fights in games that don't really fit the video game mold of bosses being a thing.

Realizing I've been caught in the meterpadding fashion.

Decided I'm not even going to look at healing meter again in our main raid. Just was ending up destroying my performance just for the sake of sniping heals.

These crashes I've been getting lately in WoW are starting to annoy me and of course the Tech Support forums are next to no help.

Someone mentioned a game from steam summer sales, and I ended up spending just under 40€ - and I'm not even at a computer where I can install any of them, and won't be till wed.

(FC3, ETS2 and Tropico4)

Edit:
Additionally GF now says that computer equipment isn't from our shared savings, so if I want a steering wheel for ETS2, I have to pay for it myself.. )
Main Characters:
Nooska, Blood Elf BM/SV Hunter on Argent Dawn (EU)
Morosin, Bloody freezing orc death knight on Argent Dawn (EU)
Niisca, Shady forsaken "priest" on Argent Dawn (EU)

Let me join you on this.
Haven't had any crash for months, then since the last minipatch I often get some, with the annoying effect of losing every macro / addon change I might have done.

Yeah before I reinstalled windows I didn't have any of these problems. DX11 causes the client to freeze literally minutes after logging in, tons of "out of memory" errors.

I don't get it. Everything worked just fine before :(

If you don't value computer security leaving steam logged into a computer and using the Steam mobile app it allows you to install games that way.

IT at work.
IT for my wife while at work.
IT for employees comps

Seriously people. At some point, i don't want to go home, and work on other people's comps. I just want to go home, and play on mine. or play on the Wii/PS2/X360. Maybe I DON'T WANT TO BE YOUR EFFING IT SERVICE.

Mine likes to crash right after I get out of a LFR for some reason. I'll zone out and then hit a flightpath or something and kaboom.

How about doing Tech Support for your wife, while she is at your mother in laws, and can't get her computer to connect to the wifi, while you are sitting at work, trying to get work done?

Frustrating run I got into last night.

The top horde guild on server (2nd server 13/13H) "hosted" a ToT normal 25-man taking PuGs. Signed up with my shaman (we didn't have enough to run in-guild this week, again *sigh*).

3 hours, got through Primordious. Only two wipes, so that wasn't bad.

Frustration #1) I got no loot. Only one thing even dropped that I was interested in (the spell fist-weapon from council) but I didn't win the roll. The rest of it was all cloth, plate, or cloaks. (My god, the number of cloaks that dropped...) Used 3 coins, all were fails.

Frustration #2) We only got to Primordious. They took WAY too much time explaining mechanics on some fights (esp considering point 3, below).

Frustration #3) Holy crap, 25-man is easy. All of us running 10-man are doing it wrong. The only fight that seemed harder on 25s was Ji-Kun (and that's where we wiped twice). Otherwise it seemed like having so many raid CDs just trivialized everything. Health bars didn't even move during Lightning Storm or Rampage. Everyone was instantly topped after Quake Stomp. The worst example was that people simply weren't moving out of the green bombs on Maegara, and it didn't even matter - just tranq back up after each one! Lost a couple people to getting one-shotted by rockfalls and Force of Will and stuff. Didn't matter. On top of that, you get way more (and better) loot. I'd imagine that Animus is tough on 25s, but that'd be about it I think.

(And no, they didn't have completely ridiculous DPS to make up for it either - there were a bunch of PuGs and the hosting guild were all taking alts).

Frustration #4) They had 26 people in the raid (which is ok I guess if one person stays outside the instance or something), but that messed with my UI something awful. :(

Oh well. At least I didn't make a fool of myself. Was 2nd or 3rd on healing for most fights (except Primordious - was dead last there for some reason probably related to Healing Rain being useless on that fight *laugh*). Only mechanic I screwed up was getting knocked off the bridge on Horridon trash.

Try 25 hc where every boss ability becomes "use 1-2 raid cds or wipe" and tell me of how easy and fun having so many cooldowns is ;) :P
